Celine S/S 2026 Paris

I understand what your point is but seems like you missed mine.

Given what he did in a past from the same position as Rider and seeing what he is now, his opinion seems only fueled by bitterness.

For me his opinion would matter if he did something very substantial both at Jil, Trussardi and Ports but no three fails.

I don’t mind negative opinions and rather tend to look at them more than the positives ones.

However, when voicing a public (negative) opinion like he did, it needs some legitimacy to back it up.

it just bugs me to see his post about Rider/Celine and then 90% of his are half naked white men + his buttcheeks/nipples/bulges/feet. 😂
i struggle with the question myself ingereral
i understand the need from the public for legitimacy and authority from public figures when they express opinions.

but still should it not matter more what he says for the sake of discussing the collection by Rider ?than who he is? public or not ?

the reverse can be then applied with same logic to Phoebe or John G. and many more for allegedly made strange comments or dubious behaviors in the past does it mean there design work is less valid per example?

i think context in argument matter but it could have just as well be anonymous and one could argue based on just the written words, he is not so wrong with his statement as CK was also a disaster.

What‘s so bad about Vukmirovic‘s work at Jil Sander? Sander S/S 2003 still looks cool and relevant to me. and sexy.
Meiers is the worst thing that has happened to Jil Sander, in my opinion.
True Meiers nr 1 disaster at Jil for me
Vukmirovic or new bally boy will be nr 2 or 3 i have to wait and see

Huh. Fair enough. Your approach sounds very different from mine. Overall artistic direction, runway styling, etc. help get me into the store, but those associations fade quickly once I own something. After a few wears, the only concept left is "Higtha liked this enough to buy it."

The exception is when I'm actively thinking about fashion history/houses. Then I think it's neat to have a piece of something that's no longer available from the house but lives on (for lack of less dramatic term) via people who bought it in the moment. For me, the "moment" a brand sells me isn't just the time it's in stores, but the full useful lifespan of the products and the way they break in and wear. How something looks and feels after extensive wear and maintenance is part of its design, whether or not the team actually put much thought into how that item would crease/fade/stretch/etc. If I sell something, I'm selling the rest of the "moment" to the next owner.
for me its not the problem of the pieces itself its what they represent in the current time in relation to what the brand stands for now.
what its worth now to me knowing it something else ...its like irrational its emotional i guess or i am just a snob purist.

buying margiela at his time was like your secret ...with things that look normal but also bit off people that knew where few, after he left it just got big and corporate brand the value of it was lost it became disney.

i have younger friend they shop vintage and i even help them but i don't feel to revisit the past or have these items.

mind you prada i still have loads even if prada now i find harder and harder to justify it being what i loved about it i have to say i value it less.
i am sure one day i will get rid of it if not all ..

I remember Raf Simons telling in 2012 that Galliano‘s work was not relevant.., Not sure if Raf is relevant himself anymore..
So the audacity is legitimate once you‘re employed by Dior ? He had no reason to be openly bitter about Galliano,

I loved this collection as a new era start, and the runway soundtrack was perfect for the show. The collection color story was upbeat and hopeful. I loved the scarves and how well I can see this being merchandised. I am excited to see how this does in the market; and what I love most is that so many of the looks can be built into any wardrobe.

Everyone's been talking about the reintroduction of the Phantom; the smiley face zip detail isn't my thing; but it's nice to see the bag reintroduced to the new/next generation.

It's low to make openly public statements about your predecessor like that. He did that multiple times. So petty.

Also wonder why he went to the Celine show?

I think his companion works for Celine!
But i have to say in 2012 he was not so wrong to make that statement about John

hedi-stans are like kpop stans. its either hedi or nothing. no moving on for those girlies. They are very vocal but I'm not sure they contributed much to Hedi's RTW sales.

Just like GM at margiela, I think if he finds his footing, rider can find success in celine. He just needs to have more focus and hopefully bring the prices down to what they should be.

The comparison between the Celine bracelets is rough but not wholly Rider’s fault
all the vintage versions look more refined, bags included they should have refined things more technically also

he bag is too rigid and the handle construction hedi did chicer why not build on that or do a biter version of the vintage one.

the bracelets could have had more details like the vintage instead they have a toy like vibe to them

its ok most people buying them don't care or know the vintage version

looking at the review of bags its all less refined even coming from phoebe's era you would expect more engineering in the design but its all has a flat made in turkey counterfeit construction almost 70´s vintage make construction made out of sky leather ( plastic) and a pastiche of design and vintage feeling jammed together like a frankenstein child of hedi´s vintage approach to acc and phoebe's design approach.

More tea please…
i said it before he said in front of the team at prada to raf thst raf is too nice he should be more strong /mean so people respect and fear him ...he is not nice to models and other teams in general classic nasty fashion basic gay stuff

he wants of course that he takes over casting for prada one day soon and is working on this ...

Oh! Jean-Georges was cuter!
Samuel almost favor him…
I guess since JG is working for Versace and that they are part of Prada, it’s a whole happy family!
LOL can you believe Jean Georges went from intellectual nerdy Raf to singer hunk Marco Mengoni to shallow hunky influencer Paolo Stella?
He surely knows what kind of man he likes...LOL
