Central Saint Martins (CSM), London

ah, thank you!

Has anyone made the Introduction to Fashion Design or Exploring Your Fashion Design course?

Im interested in some report about these.

I'm applying for MA Fashion and working on my personal statement now - any ideas as to how long it should be? There's no set word limit mentioned.

Hey everyone... so I have a few questions...

I want to apply for the fashion design courses (Fashion BA, MA) and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do...

Okay so, please bear with me and I hope at least 1 person answers.

1) I'm assuming that you need some level of sewing/clothes making/tailoring technique before you apply to CSM?
1a) You can't just send in sketches and learn sewing techniques from CSM, correct?

2) You have to get the BA before MA, correct?

3) How "special" do you have to be in order to get a scholarship? What does it take?

Thanks.....

1. Can't answer that ... I've never been a fashion student, but I'm sure it's on their site, somewhere.
2. Ditto.
3. Yes... a Bachelors of Arts comes before a Masters of Arts.
4. It depends on the scholarship you apply for ... there are more than one out there.

Go to their site ... pretty much everything is explained on there, if you follow all the applicable links.
Here are a few of them that I found:

^Thanks again BetteT.

Now I have another question,
I was reading through this thread (from the beginning) and I read someone say that Alexander McQueen "dissed" CSM... and I was just curious what he said exactly. Does anyone know?

I'm in Jr/Community College right now (this is my first year)...
And I want to transfer to CSM.
What am I suppose to do to get there?
Do you have any suggestions?

what what what, do you mean with the mini project the mini portfolio (for fcp?) I thought I had read and understood everything about the application process through the csm page and tha the mini portfolio would only be asked if you were "qualified" and got forward on the process? Oh man, I think I need to do some emailing in the morning...

hey there are two deadlines i THINK like if you give in your application earlier you get a earlier deadline but same thing if u give it in later u get a later deadline, dont worry! your get your deadline  my friend is applying  did you get a response yet?? good luck!

ah, I see...I left my application in to the ucas 15th jan deadline on friday (14th). I assume the deadline I will get comes through ucas track?

Hi guys im doing foundation at chelsea rite now specialising in fine art but i realised i wanna do fashion more but i cant transfer now because ive already applied to ucas

I've got the mini portfolio brief now, It has to been sent off soon! I got told only some people get sent the mini portolio, anybody tell me if thats true?

Does anyone have suggestions for a possible topic for a Fashion Journalism applicant to write about? I wanted to do one on the origins/impact of TFS, but didn't know if that would be "fashion" enough for the Admission Gods.

Has anyone thought of applying to graduate diploma before applying to the fashion MA?

I'm assuming you already took the Foundation Degree in Art and Design, taking the Fashion pathway? All the Folio does is help you put together an acceptable portfolio - and its a surprisingly expensive course. Especially seeing as they tell you what to put in your portfolio anyways.

Has anyone done the Fashion Photography short course? I'm thinking of moving to London on a study abroad program in the second half of the year and doing something like that on the side and I'd be interested in some opinions. or opinions on any of the photography teaching really

Hi! Does anyone know how important it is to include (many) drawings of landscapes, cityscapes, interiors, etc, in your portfolio. Because I do have loads of life drawings but I don't have that many drawings of my surroundings..

@bunburyist. Some one, some posts ago, had done that course. I can remember she wasn't really happy with the course.. you should look her up.
