Karl Lagerfeld has started the shoots for his next short movie in Saint-Tropez France and surroundings. Part of the cast are actors Elisa Sednaoui and Pascal Greggory in the leading roles alongside Jean-Roch, as well as models closely related to the House of Chanel: Freja Beha, Jake Davies, Magdalena Frackowiak, Baptiste Giabiconi, Sébastien Jondeau, Karolina Kurkova, Abbey Lee, Leigh Lezark and Heidi Mount.
The film is to be released on May 11th for the 2010 Cruise show.

I think we ought to remember that Cruise/Resort is more for the posh vacationers, so these collections are probably designed to actually be worn when the clients are out and about. Anyways, I see some nice pieces, especially what Magda's wearing. I really don't like the caged boots, though.

Chanel Cruise Update!

The infinite manifestations of Karl Lagerfeld's creativity includes cinema: for years now, every Chanel runway show is preceded by a short film, a kind of manifesto of images for each new collection. His most recent short film was just shot in Saint Tropez and the leading lady is his muse and inspiration, Elisa Sednaoui. Alongside her, the cast includes Pascal Greggory as the designer; and Heidi Mount, Karolina Kurkova, Leigh Lezark, Freja Beha Erichsen and Abbey Lee Kershaw. The film which will be shown in honor of the French village features Magdalena Frackowiak as Brigitte Bardot. The short film will be shown in honor of the Chanel Cruise Collection on May 11th in Saint Tropez.

Lagerfeld's film for the Shanghai Resort collection was one of the most godawful films I've ever seen. I don't have much faith in his directing ability, or the acting abilities of his models and muses.
