The proportions on some of the pieces are so unflattering, and these are tall girls, imagine a regular height celebrity wearing them. I think the details are amazing, but it's Chanel, so it's expected. They won't save the collection.
Wow, there is a staggering amount of looks that should have never made it to production with how unflattering they are on the models (imagine them on non-models! yikes!). There are some better looks than others, but overwhelmingly the entire collection is bad. And why so large? This is another collection that would have benefited from showing fewer looks.
This whole collection has a very random and half-finished feeling which is... surprising. This may sound strange but it kind of has the tossed-off feeling of what Phoebe Philo would do. It's not overtly offending me, but I'm having trouble finding any worthwhile looks here.
The crop tops and general proportions on display only add to how confused I am about couture today, and how much of what we see on the couture runway actually gets made and who the real customers for these clothes are.
I love this! It's fun!! We need some good couture fun for once! He definitely had so much fun and that's what's most important! I loved everything from the over the top flower embellishments, tweeds, and those crocheted beanies!!
I always hate crop tops that show the navel though ugh
I'm not old enough to know, but is this how Karl Lagerfeld *always* cut his clothes, dated from the 80s? These are just horrendous shapes, lucky for Raf Simons no one tops Chanel in the parade of ugliness.
Fit, shape, silhouette, shoes, are a disaster. Beyond unflattering. If a woman wants high concept fashion she's wearing Margiela, Marni, etc..Chanel is barking up the wrong tree with this sloppy couture mess.
