Reitman is supposed to be directing the Young Adult movie. She's going to be pretty busy since the Mad Max sequel will start shooting early next year and then Sonny is hoping to start on the Hancock sequel sometime next fall.

I read that jason Bateman is going to be her lead co-star inYoung Adult? I hope that is not that case... I'm sorry he is great at playing supporting roles but he is not leading man material despite all his abilities. The Switch was HIS movie.... Jenn Aniston had really a supporting role and they blame the film bombing on her.

I was hoping they would be able to get a different actor....

Thanks so much for the info! I disagree with you though on the Hason Bateman issue, I think he is really talented and has a great on-screen presence (see him in something freat like one of the best TV series of all time "Arrested Development), I think he was really good in The Switch, I think the script was ridiculous but he was great and remember The Switch was a limited release with very limited marketing by the studio (this was the last release of Miramax under Disney)

I don't think Will Smith has officially commited to Hancock, I really did not like that movie, so I hope CHarleze does not waste her talenton that project, which as she admited was a paycheck movie for her.

Really? She raved and raved about it and said the reason why she signed on was because it wasn't a traditional superhero movie... it combined several cinametic genres. She also claimed that she would be a fool not to be part of the sequel. I personally like it because I am a fan of Will Smith (his versatility is underrated imo) and the story was so different from the batman, spiderman, etc... though I admit the ending could have been better. Either way, there is so much room for more storytelling there and it could be a good franchise for her like Iron Man is for Gwyneth Paltrow which gives her great exposure (it grossed 625 millions) and allows her to do deeper, richer films.

Will Smith hasn't committed to anything but variety reported that Sonny/columbia was trying to get him back to work....
