Chloe 'Silverado' Bag

I would just keep the gladys :) I quite like it a lot. Like lily I dont really like the silveradoes in regular leather, and you already have a fabulous python one.

I'm not really sure what I think of the olive color, I think it's cool but not fabulous. I dont like the hobo shape though.

The Clergerie sandals? They are great...I think I will order a second pair for later... They are a bit high, but quite "walkable" given the stacked heels. I am getting a lot of use from them already.

I must be hallucinating - I thought you were wearing the michael kors gladiator ones - must have been a different post!

GG I agree. You just got the Ramona right too? Socal I say just get the Gladys and no more Silverados.....maybe next season or something....

Love the brown and olive silverados! the black is rich too. Having seen some Gladys bags the other day, I can't say that I am too impressed... the zipper motif is a little too retro, and the big red flag of snagging every piece of knitwear in the vicinity doesn't help.

Oh yes, I was wearing those in the python photo... I purchased them in luggage and chocolate...tried them on again at home (took a pic with the bag)...walked around for 5 minutes...boxed them up...returned both pair to NM...the leather is soooo soft, but they are just too high for me (over 4")...I had a "What was I thinking?" moment and decided they were just not wearable from a pratical standpoint (yes, similar to my Chloe platform moment, MK sandals are actually higher...). Sometimes I forget that I am not a glamour girl...I have two other pair of 4" heels...that is really enough for my CA life...

Yes, I love the Ramona. My absolute favorite of my new bags. I will return the black tote and olive hobo. I am going to rest on the chocolate tote for a bit...I am going to Italy in May and China in July. I think it would make a pretty good China bag. I am also going to rest with Gladys a bit...I really like her, but still need to decide if she will work for me...

All, Thanks again for feedback!

Ohhh, Didn't even think of the snag aspect...another "issue" to consider...

Hi Chicca
1) yes, it comes in calf leather as well
2)There are a few gold versions released for the silverado, the first I recall was for S/S 2005. I do remember a pewter python silverado, but no pink afaik, though there are red silveradoes.
3)If you are talking about the classic silverado style only (I referring to the style in SoCal's pictures above), it's available in a small, medium and large. Chloe has also branched out into other silverado styles, like the silverado doctor's bag, the satchel, etc

Hope you find this little primer informative. Scroll through this thread and you'll find better answers to your questions :)

thank you very much!!! I hope to find the gold version!

chicca...there is a gold on at neimanmarcus.com now!

You could try this website : http://www.luisaviaroma.com
I think they are based in Italy and they do have a pretty good collection of silveradoes, from what I recall.

Alternatively, you could just try subscribing to a US-based forwarding service, you could get the bag shipped to the US address, after which they will forward the bag to you.

Over 4 inches! What a bummer. That is too high for me also. Thanks for the info - going to cancel preorder now.

Decision update...black Gladys tote exchanged for chocolate Gladys hobo...still inspecting chocolate silverado tote... Black tote and olive hobo are "no more"...

All, Thanks again for feedback! You made my choices much easier!

Easy to wear on shoulders, but like traditional silverado satchel best... "Inspected" chocolate and black silverado doctor bags last fall and returned to retailers...

Can you tell me what you didn't like about it? I have a regular satchel in leather, and was wondering what the main differences between that shape and the doctor shape were.

Thank you!

I think cougess tried both styles as well...hope she can add to my editorial...

The medium doctor was a bit easier to carry on the shoulder than the traditional satchel...perhaps because it it narrower at the top of the bag.

The traditional satchel has the leather accent which adds a nice touch to the bag. The doctor does not have this (python comes together at the top).

The design features of the doctor just did not seem as interesting to me as the traditional python satchel...perhaps was just me...

I do like the doctor bag, but I preffer the sachel. I dont like how the doctor is more structured.

roey & cougess (& anyone else out there with any info or advice)...
i have been coveting the large open tote that i believe both of you have but i thought they were no longer available when much to my surprise i found them in bergdorfs today! i bought one because i was afraid it was going to disappear again but before i take off the tags just wanted how you have found the style? and in particular if you think the straps have stretched at all to make it easier to wear on your shoulder (this has definitely happened with my mulberry roxys and balenciaga twiggys so i am keeping my fingers crossed)! thanks so much for any words of wisdom! :flower:
