yeah his aesthetic's pretty strong
he can find someplace new

i'm looking forward to the new designer though
esp because she was part of the old design team
quite curious
it might look like when yvan was there
or phoebe

...

anyways ...im excited about the new designer , as a chloe girl , i feel some what vindicated that CEOs at Chloe understood what their loyal customers want , any hannah mcgibbon is no Frida , Phoebe handpicked her because of her talent and all that classy stuff we see at Phoebes chloe was due to Hannah Mcgibbons esp the Fall 2005 collection . Im so happy PAM is gone , but i think he will be better of doing his own line or taking over marni lol.

He did very well for Chloe and suddenly he wanted to go away? Well, that's cool ... I mean, maybe his stints at Chloe and Marni would be enough for him to set up his own brand ... I love the mid-calf dresses with fabric paneling :D

Paulo had huge shoes to fill, and i give him a lot of credit for what he managed to do
...I'm excited to see what is coming down the line for Chloe next

shouldn't they keep a designer around for many seasons, it's like the designs will totally change again.
who design's the bags? i love them

I believe this is best.
The last collection esp. was very off in my opinion and I don't think Paulo was taking Chloe in the best direction.

well I loved Paulo.. but I love changes more. :p
where do we find info about this Hannah?, I'm sure there must be more than just playing Phoebe's shadow. really interested to see her previous work (in case she's done any).
and I'm guessing she's English?. nothing against the english but ugh, I'm so not looking forward to another 10 years hearing exaggerated reviews on her 'quirky english style' trying to get along with the french aesthetic of the house and how it's all too relevant and exciting. even if it probably is.
no expectations here, and that turns me into an easy-to-please target, which is always positive. ^_^

Why did Phillo get replaced. Fill me in :flower::lol:

phoebe resigned from chloe to have a baby & raise a family, which i don't see the reason to resign really. if stella mccartney can have 2 babies and run her line (as well as a line for adidas), i don't see why phoebe couldn't either.

sad indeed...I was really impressed by his SS08 collection for Chloe,
but well, the best to him I guess...he'll better off on his own venture

Hmm, I am not sure this a good move but then again it could be better then I think it will be:unsure:

That's such a good news! The last collection was nothing Chloe-like, Paulo was too "Marni" to get the Chloe romantic, girly, old 70's vibe of the brand. If only Phoebe would go back...

OMG... Please no!!!!
I love paulo's designe

Me too!!!!! Am I the only one?!

I don't want Chloe to revert to the pretentious French-boho dressing of the past. It's too outdated and too copied to be expensive looking.

Paulo created something very distinct. If you wanted one of his dresses, you could only get it at Chloe.

The Chloe of the past is something that you can get in all shops nowadays. Its too 'everywhere':innocent:

I really hope he’ll branch out on his own, chloé wasn’t giving him very much freedom as the last collection clearly showed.
What baffles me slightly is if they were only interested in someone to replicate philo, why did they hire him in the first place? The creative team did pretty well for spring summer 07 and I don’t think philo took any part in the creation of that collection... ?

Well I think the new woman at chloe will be great ,she helped design the majority of the fall 2005 collection , when Phoebe took leave because she was pregnant ,

I thought this Chloe collection was severely lacking in comparison to the Spring 2005 season. It was very dull and bordering on boring.

Spring 2006 was a breath of fresh air compared to Fall 2005.

I have reservations about this woman. I feel like she is going to try and recreate the Philo-era Chloe and will fail miserably.

That period in Chloe's history is gone and I wish people would move on. Phoebe did what she did and it just can't be like that again. And it won't. It might have been the 'best' or the most 'true to Chloe's aesthetic' but again, it was what it was.

Me too, actually. At first, I was like WTF when I saw his Chloe collections, but I eventually grew to like it. Ah well...

Ahh it's a cruel world!

Looking at the coming season's collection - Fall/Winter - I think PAM was just finding his feet. I know that the current cruise collection isn't flying off the rails but having spoken with a few buyers the just shown collection will be well received. The current Summer collection however while beautiful is tricky and difficult to sell.

He's no accessories designer though - the bags produced during his tenure have been heinous. And it's the bags which make the money...

phoebe resigned from chloe to have a baby & raise a family, which i don't see the reason to resign really. if stella mccartney can have 2 babies and run her line (as well as a line for adidas), i don't see why phoebe couldn't either.

It was probably just because she could afford not to work. An immense luxury! It seems as though only the ego maniacs like Karl, Valentino, Galliano design for very long.

It's not that she couldn't do it ... the company was unwilling for her to do it her way. They wanted her in Paris, and her family didn't live there ... correct me if I am remembering this wrong :p

And btw the CEO of my company just left because he and his family wanted to live in a city that wasn't headquarters ...
