heartbreaking.

i stand behind everything what i've been saying on this thread.
i'll never sponsor Chris Brown because I don't support domestic violence and he's already a face of a typical abuser.

Chris Brown should be severely reprimanded and held accountable for his deplorable actions against Rihanna.

^ I didn't need to see it, but from what I've read here, it seems that a lot of people did.

So many women have suffered in vain ... I hope that this really regrettable incident puts a face on the problem for the many people who've had their heads in the sand. And I hope this encourages the many women who need to give the men in their lives the boot.

How did TMZ get that photo? Its so wrong for them to show it imo.
exactly! someone from the police station released the photo, and I find that super disrespectful.

are they even allowed to release pictures when a case is so new? it would've made alot more sense if rihanna had just released a statement telling her story.

^ I would be extremely surprised if the photo has been officially released.

This kind of thing gets swept under the rug far too often ... a little reality and a little truth seem like a good thing to me. Not to condone people not doing their jobs and keeping information confidential ...

I'm pretty happy that whoever is responsible for our seeing the Abu Graib photos did what s/he did. But I doubt any money changed hands for those.

this is sick, now perhaps all the naysayers who were living in their la la land of denial can stop excusing him. Its so tragic that @ the age of 19 he's so violent and has all this rage.

I take my WORDS back and the long dissertion about him going only to rehab...
Never imagine it was that bad... what is that bump on her forehead?

apparently, he used his fist on her and the police said it looked like 2 horns were coming out of her forehead.

I can't believe the evidence on her face warrants a threat charge. The law is pretty f*%cked up if he is under investigation for assault. How badly does a woman have be beaten for it to be assault?

he's charged with battery assault, but they could not hold for him threatening her life since it will be he said, she said. The Assault charge will stick in a court of law, the worry is that he'll get off with 1 yr or less.

Actually, it is the other way around. He was booked on criminal threats and under investigation for assault. He pretty much did more than threat her life. It is so stupid.

Just to add. The DA is the one that adds more charges. So far nothing has been added other than the criminal threat.

my same exact reaction when i saw the picture on tv.
poor girl. i diddnt think it was going to be this bad

Yeah same here, I thought it would have been just a slap or something! But how are they going to prove that Chris Brown did it?

literally speechless.

i just saw it on perezhilton, and i literally covered my mouth and my eyes filled with tears. i simply cannot understand how someone can do this to another human. especially someone they supposedly "love". it's too much. oh, my heart breaks for Rihanna. she's just a child herself.

it's so much worse than i expected it to be. while obviously any kind of physical abuse is never acceptable, there are levels of severity and this is just astonishingly severe. how on earth did he ever think he'd get away with something so horrific? i'm just so happy she managed to get out of the car when she did. who knows how tragic this might have been ...

i am all for giving a person a second chance, and i believe anyone can have their spirit saved (*not in a religious sense, don't mistake me - i just mean that everyone, no matter how heinous their crime, can come back from evil into good - it is possible*) - and so now Chris Brown needs to atone for what he has done. he needs to truly understand the irreparable damage he has caused and he needs to sincerely repent. he will never be able to make up for his actions to Rihanna. he'll never be able to take back what he has done. but he must change his future so that he doesn't live with such evident rage any longer, and he must learn from his mistake and NEVER make the same one again.

Absolutely.

I won't name names but I was disturbed with those posters claiming they needed 'more information' to form an opinion on the attack.
When two people have a row and one of them get beat up (and there was never any doubt that Rihanna was beaten up), you don't need 'more information' to form a moral judgement and condemn the violent attack as wrong.
The need for more information only goes into making sure the attacker get a fair punishment and complementary help if needed.

I am kind of glad this was released, to be honest.
After Brown's terrible statement I was secretly hoping Rihanna's camp would release a picture as a retaliation for his assness.
I know it's an horrible violation of privacy, I know it feeds the voyeurism of the bottom-feeders of our society, etc. But Chris' attitude made it the only course of action possible, imo. His statement clearly showed he hoped to get away with what he'd done with no more than a slap on the wrist.

A picture always inflicts more damages than rumors.
Chris's team will not be able to spin this.

Edited to add:
the reports of her having bruises in the shape of horns were obviously accurate. I believe such reports emanated from TMZ. The same source got hold of the picture. Obviously, some police officers close to the case have been leaking information to TMZ.
Which would mean that the reports from the same source claiming he choke her unconscious and abandoned her on a parking lot have a very strong chance of being accurate as well...
