Chris Brown arrested and sentenced for domestic violence

If she hit him after he started punching her, that's called self-defense and isn't wrong.

But in general I am just not on board with this whole moral equivalency thing. The potentially lethal nature of a violent man significantly changes the equation for me. Like a Yorkie and a pit bull that both bite ... which one do you think you better get under control first? If you go for the Yorkie because all biting is wrong ... well good luck to you.

True but self defense is one of those things with a fine line.
And like I said before and have been led to believe she is the one with injuries, not him.

I totally agree, It's absolutely not the same thing.

There's no fine line if someone is using you as a punching bag & choking you and you fear for your life--you've got to try & stop him. However you think you can best do it, you'll get no questions asked from me. This is where all women would do well to take a self-defense class--there are things you can do that require basically no upper body strength that will stop an attacker. Take no prisoners, girls ... :argg:

Someone here mentioned a photo or footage that showed bruised knuckles (did that to himself) and other minor bruising.

I won't name names but I was disturbed with those posters claiming they needed 'more information' to form an opinion on the attack.
When two people have a row and one of them get beat up (and there was never any doubt that Rihanna was beaten up), you don't need 'more information' to form a moral judgement and condemn the violent attack as wrong.

The need for more information only goes into making sure the attacker get a fair punishment and complementary help if needed.

Absolutely. This is truly horrific, i don't need to hear or care about "his side of the story". This kind of act is unpardonable and there is no excuse whatsoever- morally or legally.

We might be formed by our backgrounds, but as humans with FREE WILL we are not governed by them.

Am I the only one who is glad the picture has been leaked?

The image truly speaks volumes for itself and effectively silences anyone who has been trying to defend Chris Brown.

I look forwards to his PR camp trying to spin this.

It's true.

But even then in this case this all questioning is ridiculous, people should just look at him, I do not think Rhianna could do much against a man of his size, well maybe scratch him with her acrylic nails...
We do not need to hear his side of the story, we have the cold hard facts.

I agree.Of course I am sad about Rihanna because this isn't something she would like people to see but maybe it will help the part of the public that was trying to find excuses for Chris Brown to realize that what he did was serious

i just saw the picture. i am so shocked and so very sorry for her! her expression on the face is extremly saddening.

i really hope that she WON'T go back to him and that he gets the punishment he deserves.
i would be also surprised if her people let her go back so easily. beside it being totally false for her, it would be also very bad for her career.

i am speechless from this picture. it is something different when you see the real picture instead of reading about it.

I bet his defense attorney will use the leaked to say Chris can't get a fair trial..because the public saw the pics before he was charged..Watch his lawyers spin it..

But yeah the damage is done to Chris kid friendly career..

Chris needs help..

It's really sad for both parties..of course especially for the person who got injured..:(

Considering he is a celebrity and judging by the flesh eating lawyer he hired, it was never going to be a fair trial anyway.
At least now his rep is ruined. That might be a bigger punishment that he was ever going to be sentenced by a court.

i want to hear what dirt bag Brown has to say about this now. The pictures don't lie.

don't know how reliable this is but...:

Law enforcement sources have told E! News that the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has requested more evidence to help prove the felony charges brought against Chris Brown as a result of the February 8th domestic violence incident involving him and Rihanna.
At the moment Brown is being investigated for domestic violence, assault resulting in great bodily injury, and attempted murder based on Brown's supposed threat to kill her and then strangling her until she passed out.
But since the only two people who know what really happened that night are Chris Brown and Rihanna, it will be difficult for Rihanna's team to slap Brown with "attempted murder" and the DA does not want to move forward with such a severe high profile case if the evidence is faulty.

If only.

At the Huffington Post (supposidely a liberal, intellectually 'enlightened' blog) I have read tons of comments still defending him ('she must have hit him first'), blaming her ('why did she stay with him in the first place?') and playing down her injuries. There were even some fools in denial who claimed the picture was doctored even though LAPD confirmed its authenticity.
I don't even dare go to the 'dumber' blogs...
Fact is, his core fan base and sympathetic fellow wife-beater won't be swayed by anything that has or will come out.

I am still waiting for him to issue an actual apology. I think he will have to now... or maybe he is just that dumb.

I hate people sometimes :(

^ Liberal blogs are a magnet for Rush wannabes. They fancy themselves the fox in the hen house.

As I said, overall I'm glad the picture's out ... "The truth shall set you free." And now we'll find out how well whoever did it covered their tracks ...

Yeah, I read some of those comments...really really sad:(, I dont hate them but I hope they will mature and learn that its never ok to beat somebody.
Im not glad that the photo is out there. If Rihanna would have agreed on it, then it would be ok, but now its just making it worse for her. Even if Chris is OVER now, I worry more about how Rihanna is doing than what happens to Chris. Chris will get what he deserves no matter what, karma will get him.

Those people...they can just continue in their denial. There's no helping them.

However, I think there will be people out there for whom this photo will get across the severity of the issue and of domestic abuse.

The fact that women defend CB is what is the most infuriating.
