You always hear French designers talking about how inspiring Marie is to them.

perhaps you do...
but john galliano is not french...

does anyone know where he lives now?
does he go back and forth from paris to london still?
or is he based in paris for the most part these days?

where is the atelier for his signature collection and other lines?
has it all been moved to paris by now?

while versailles is the location of the show...
that by no means implies that it is the title or theme of the collection...

the exact location was chosen for a Dior "Matrix"-themed couture show back in 1999

clearly he has done a completely unrelated theme there already...
and if marie antoinette was the theme...
that would be tremendously cliche and disappointing...

hopefully he has a more creative and original idea ...
and he probably does...

I agree with you.

Those 8 hours of makeup and hair sound great, and I really hope the theme isn't related to Marie Antoinette because that is very predictable, and Galliano always suprises us

Im with you too, i hope it will not be themed on Marie Antoinette, so jaded now don´t you think?, i had the idea it will be, i don´t know, maybe a look back at his work for Dior, or hopefully something new, maybe all the super models of yorn will be there, I will love to see something made with chinchilla fur and last but not least, GOD!, i wish i could morph into Marisa Berenson that day or Ana Wintour to see the show or maybe work as a red tie.

OMG *dies* I will be on friggin holiday in friggin Croatia when this show takes friggin place, so when I get home the twelth I'll be in for one hell of a friggin surprise

Anywho softie, I believe Galliano is fully installed in Paris by now indeed And I hope to God that the show is NOT inspired by Marie Antoinette, because Galliano has pretty much drained her to her bones (litteraly, SS 06) as an inspiration and I would like to something I have not ever seen before like he did last January.

I'm not sure where my friend got the article from, but he said that in it Healey's last conversation with Robinson before his death was that Robinson suggested there be a choir and that he wanted a full orchestra. Healey said that with John and Michael (whoever that is), they'd try to make it happen. I'll ask him where he got that from!

Nopes, Galliano´s headquarters in located on the 20th and Dior on the 8th (in Avenue Montaigne, corner building with Francois premier street) in the same building Christian Dior bought on the forties, they have held one Haute couture show there and one Prêt à porter show as well (both spring-summer 99), and in case you saw sex and the city, is the Dior boutique where Carry falls in on the first episode of the last chapter
