Christian Dior Haute Couture F/W 2015.16 Paris

I think Raf is doing the same thing as Karl at chanel, focusing on beautiful sets and ignoring the clothes. The more grand the Dior sets become, the less thought out the collection it seems.

I agree. But it's all about the set. The outfits would've looked so much different without the grand set design.

What an odd an mix of pretty yet boring design. The set is stunning as usual.

With Karl at Chanel there's at least an attempt to do something new, as bizarrely hideous as the results often are. Raf doesn't even seem like he's trying anymore: he's given up on making RTW and couture two separate visions and is now just trotting out endlessly tempered, boring and uninspiring clothes. No doubt we'll see a video interview uploaded onto Dior's site within the next few days that'll have Raf trying to intellectualize this collection.

Wow the shoes are to die for I also adore the runway set up it looks amazing

I quite like this collection - it's one of the better one he has done for Dior IMO. It looks nothing like Dior though. Nothing. I wish TPTB would get someone new because by G.. the house of Dior deserves better than this :(

I love it, idc. Also, this time, he took the female form into account.

[PS. i'm no expert but in some of you wouldn't recognise couture even if it poked you in the eye]

i actually start to like it, the more i see it

those harness things are so beautiful, i think they make the collection. love the v neck dresses that are open at the sides, it's quite sexy for dior!

All I can see is Céline, Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière, a bit of Prada and some of his own designs at Jil Sander, some of the looks are nice enough, but I was hoping for more. Raf articulates the concepts and ideas behind his collections brilliantly, yet still he hasn't managed to define what his Christian Dior actually is.

Time to dream, literally, Raf is so boring but it is like this time he got lazy
because he didn't want to dress her models, there were a lack of beauty, clothes and buttons.

Most of those coats look like they were borrowed from an Acne Studios runway. The embroidery was beautiful, the set was great and the casting seemed right, bet something is off. Like Raf does not know where he wants to take Dior and how to make the Dior woman exceptional. She should have a very distinctive look (come on, it's Dior!) but right now she looks like she wants to wear LV or Chloe but is stuck to one brand and can't break free.

It's very Medeival. I wasn't expecting that to be the trend this season. Versace was the Vixen from the land of sin and pleasure and Dior is the religious prude from across the sea. I don't understand why everything was so covered up, what is she hiding?

I'm starting to like a lot of it. There are beautiful dresses.

I quite like this collection... It feels more personal and deep than many of his collections lately. I could place this to the top 5 along his first couture/rtw offerings for the house. The silhouette feels fresh and the strange materials/colours are gone. I just wish he would spend more time in the Dior archive... His recent offerings have been missing on the Dior spirit, and that's why it can easily look like someone else's work. He yet has to top his first couple couture collections.

Also, to all the people still moaning for Galliano, I have to point out that this collection is closest to Galliano-Dior we've seen after his departure. Just look at those coats. Don't they just remind the Poiret-style capes Galliano often did, or his more experimental kimono-inspired shapes he did for Dior around 2002-2003? Also the delicate medieval element and light beaded gowns look very Galliano-esque to me...

THIS is couture - tiny feathers sewn onto fabric... and this is a detail shot of a floor length gown- incredible #diorcouture
