Cloak F/W 06.07 NYC

really liking this:) plokhov is growing on me more and more, i think the coats are especially great! so jealous at people who get to go to those shows btw....

This collection is amazing. These peices could of been worn 30 or 40 years ago. This is one of the best labels from New York.

I like his stuff nice tailoring. I just wish he wouldn't use so much black like in his spring he used lighter colors and I think he did get one of the cfha things because he has a store in new york and stuff.

I think it's pretty good. Though it may make for a less exciting show, I think it's cool that he's made everything so wearable but retained the cool military-inspired details and tailoring that make Cloak what it is. I just love how he does all these little things like gothic-looking tabs and oddly placed closures on trousers and such. No one really does what he does. And they seem like such obvious cool ideas, so whenever I look at the stuff, I'm like, "Why doesn't anyone else do that?!" Anyhow...yeah, solid collection from what I've seen. And I love that black models are featured!

I think this is a good collection, I like the suiting, sweaters, hoodies but I'm not swooning over everything. Maybe I'm just stuck on the Fall 2004/Spring 2005 image/style Cloak had. This piece, however, REALLY stood out for me, absolutely gorgeous!!!:

I think it's pretty great. I love the detailing on everything, the pants buttons etc.

Its different but wearable. I paticularly LOVE the first outfit.

I loved it.
The music was amazing, so evil, the whole atmoshphere was so badass.
the leather jackets are awesome.

the snow pants are awesome.

Sucess.

Man, I probably have more Cloak stuff than just about anyone here, save for Baklanyc... and I'm just not feeling this collection. I want to like it--especially since there hasn't been much F/W 06 stuff that I'm into--but I'm just overwhelmed by the blandness. There are a few nice pieces, like the red leather jacket pictured above, but usually in Cloak's collections there are a number of "buy me!" pieces, and nothing is hitting me like that. Something also seems thin about it... does Getty really have all the pictures? Their Spring collection was much larger, it seems.

It's good but I'm disappointed to be honest. His S/S collection was alot better and strong. It's abit on the bland side as someone mentioned before and some of it just seems too gentlemen like in a way. Having said that though, I don't think anyone comes close to him in terms of menswear in NY ^_^

One piece I like from this collection is that very very dangerous looking red leather jacket!

Agree! Nice, clean outfits as usual, but I think I love his last collection more.

The venue looks cool!:woot:

(P.S. If they can deal with the fitting, buttons, all those stuff more carefully in real terms, I think it can earn more customers and money.)

Agreed. And for me, it's not only the collection, but the person behind the collection. I admire his concept and viewpoints.

If Donatella Versace had made this collection (not that she would/could), I would not buy into it because I do not respect her concept and ideology. It just wouldn't be the same. This is what seperates him from the others.

Alexandre Plokhov :woot:

These clothes are sooooooooo sexy:heart: I love the tailoring. Just wonderful.

at least i'm right with #25.

^Yes, the tailoring is great! I've spent my money mostly on Cloak (Fall05.06) instead of Dior Homme last year and I think it'll be the same for this year also. I wonder if he will use some other colors instead of black, in the future.

Btw, does anybody know what music was played on the runway? ie. artist or band, genre, etc. I'm just curious...

Music was from an Iggy Pop metal album. Dunno which album or song.

I went to A, and the owner told me he's going to the show. It was right across the street. So I went with him.
I also earmarked some stuff at INA Men's. :innocent:

Airboy, I'm sure we'll meet some day, not to worry.

What! now I'm even more upset...I wasn't even doing anything that day and I live a block away
