Coldplay

I couldn't stand the wait... I've been putting off listening to the leaked tracks, but I just couldn't help it... It's so new and refreshing, unexpected but still familiar Coldplay. Maybe I'm just overly enthusiastic because I've been Coldplay deprived for the longest time since their last album.

Is anyone going to see their concert? Madison Square Gardens gets a free show. Unfortunately I'm not in NYC, so I tried to get tickets this morning for my city and they sold in a flash. Now I'm so depressed, and when I'm sad I listen to Coldplay, but now I can't listen to them because it reminds me of how I don't have tickets  So, I've convinced myself I will win a radio contest tomorrow

I'm going to see them in November...it was supposed to be in July but it was postponed :( Either way I'm really excited to see them, I never have before! And I can't wait for the album.

^ :judge: So lucky.

The album should be a great surprise. "Viva la Vida" sounds like nothing I would have expected AT ALL, but it was so good that the whole thing should be a decent surprise!

I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with Viva la vida. They promised us an album with a completely different new sound, but this is just like everything else you hear on the radio these days. Now they just have this bit harder guitar sound. If it wasn't a Coldplay album it wouldn't sell half as much as it does. It's a good album and everything, but I just expected so much more. It's an improvement from X&Y though in my opinion.

I liked X&Y better, "Fix You" and "Swallowed in the Sea" are miles better than anything on the Viva la vida IMO
Was very disappointed with this album really

Aw, you guys are making me nervous :( Tomorrow's the day though, I'm going to buy the album after I get out of work and I'm excited no matter what kind of reviews I'm hearing!

I bought the CD. I have only listened to the first 4 songs, and I'm quite pleased.

The first things I think of are "tribal" and "monumental."

I  'Cemeteries of London.' Quite gorgeous!!!

Yeah, I am pretty much in love with this cd  They have redeemed themselves to me after X&Y!

Listen to the rest, Papa:judge: It's so worth it!

Have you checked out the B-sides?

The other "version" of 'Lost!' is 'Lost?'.
It's pretty much the same song but "milder." ^_^

Now, opheliarose I don't know if you've ever listened to Dave Matthews Band's Before These Crowded Streets but in the CD, there are songs and within a song, another song starts after that without changing tracks.

Is that what Coldplay has done? I think they did it for "Death and All of His Friends" and "Yes." Am I correct? :flower:

So far, the best songs are Lost!, Strawberry Swing, and Life in Technicolor. :magic:

I haven't heard the other version of Lost! but I really want to.

There are definitely songs within songs here, or at least that's what it sounds like to me! I mean, it's all the same song but it just changes up a bit, I don't know what they'd call it exactly and I bet interviewers are scared to try and ask Chris

I like your picks, plus I really dig Cemeteries of London, Lovers in Japan / Reign of Love and Death and All His Friends. Yeah, I know that's over half the album right there :P

I still have yet to download more B-sides, like "A Spell a Rebel Yell."

I just downloaded "2000 Miles" (Christmas cover by The Pretenders) and it's quite gorgeous! I love it as much as I love "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.:

I so love Yes..I can't stop listening it over and over :woot:

what an amazing CD! not what i expected at all,but so wonderful!!!

and how HOT is Mr. Chris Martin on the rolling stones cover???!!!

Wow Coldplay has drastically gone down hill. Their first album was their best, their second was decent, everything since then has been absolutely terrible :yuk: The last straw for me was the 'Swallowed in the Sea' lyric:
"You cut me down a tree and brought it back to me
and that’s what made me see where I was going wrong"

...and this is coming from a former drove-four-hours-to-stand-in-line-for-9-hours-to-get-front-row-seats Coldplay fan.

I'm not sure how I feel about their new album... At first I LOVED it, but the more i listen to it, it seems to die on me instead of growing :( I don't hate it though. My favorite song is Lost!. I heard two lines from it a few weeks ago, when they were on The Hour (GREAT interview!! watch it if you can!), and immediately fell in love with it!

anyways... i have my tickets for July 29th, squeeeee!!!
