Conventional Beauty vs Unconvential Beauty

Well to me I see classic as being say, Janice Dickinson, Beverly Johnson etc (look at old vogue covers for example), whereas modern is the more anglular and harsh look of models such as Daria, Hye and Tiiu.

No Emina Cunmulaj,Rianne Ten Haken,Doutzen kroes,Ai Tominiga,Lyia Kebede,Solange Wilvert I adore these girls they are very hot and beautifull so much beauty

I love both. I love the Maryln Monroe classics and the Adriana modern type beauties. But that is just me.

why is there a discussion on this? modern is relative and so is classic....classic to whom? modern to whom? omahyra may be a modern beauty to americans, but she may be considered classically beautiful elsewhere, for instance...this is a dumb thread, no offense
I couldn't agree more!

Modern. Much more interesting and the reason I'm interested in models to begin with.

Generally I find Classic beauty far more appealing but I do make exceptions for some of the more edgy or exotic beauties such as Ana Beatriz or A. Lima.

But nothing beats a beautifuly proportioned and symetrical face especially with some old school glamour.

Yoanna House may be a classic beauty, but I think her face is sooo boring, and I never thought of her as beautiful and interesting. Gemma Ward is stunning! I think it's hard to choose classic or modern, becase I like both. Jackie Kennedy is gorgeous, so was Elizabeth Taylor (and Natalie Portman, Angelina Jolie etc) But I love to look at faces like Eugenia's, she gets more beautiful the more I look at her.

What in the world is a classic beauty then? All the ones I thought were classic, people are then saying, "with that nose?" "with that chin?" I would consider Gemma modern, and Tiiu classic. Just because you have a little bit of an edge doesn't mean you are not classically beautiful imo; Hana is slightly modern looking but overall, I find her to be a classic beauty.

well, i'm not a real expert and "classic" is a so big word, but when referred to classic art/beauty, it seems to me that one thinks of well-proportioned features according to western criteria.
i'm not saying that is right, maybe that isn't at all, but according to that it's difficult to consider hilary rodha or lisa cant's chins as classic. or gisele's nose, not to mention my beloved daria.
the most classic looking current model who comes to my mind is tasha tilberg. as a supermodel maybe christy turlington.

I apologize eword, I wasn't trying to single you it, if it came off that way. I would agree with all the picks you made, actually, except for maybe tasha, who is much more angular and "edgy" (hate that word!) now than when she was younger. Classic to me means refined, elegant, almost aristocratic; not quirky or childlike. Eugenia is one that fits that imo. But the real problem is, as someone said, it is all about opinion, and "classic beauty" is undefinable. :flower: anyway this is a good representative picture of Eugenia (from style.com).

^ no need to apologise.
obviously there's something subjective, but when you refer to 'classicism' in images (art & beauty) you have to refer to some objective rules too - objective rules in so far they've been accepted by a wide number of ppl.

i'm not that able to find examples cos actually i prefer irregular beauties with irregular noses! and i'm fed up with western criteria!
