Creepers

They are not really my style and I can't see myself wearing them. But I have to say I do enjoy seeing how other people wear them, when it's done right, the effect is pretty awesome.

Don't like them at all. Reminds me of the shoes the Spice Girls used to wear in 1997, only their's were higher.

i'm in 2 minds.
sometimes they look hideously garish,
other times they look amazing.
The shoes from Jil Sander's f/w 08/09 collection were, some say, derived from brothel creepers.

here's an editorial that made actual creepers look good too (or at least that's my opinion)

^ those look cool. I've never seen them with a pointed toe before.
Ya I think when done right, they can look pretty cool. I've been debating back and forth whether or not to get them, and I think I'm going to. I love experimenting ! :p
They remind me of Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day lol.

I agree with Tangerine. It's certainly a style that traces fashion for Teddy Boys, Rockabillies, Psychobillies & Punks. Had to share these pictures from the 80's:

Creepers are actually tolerable to me. Unless an uprising of mainstreaming Goth comes along, and unless this uprising catches on, then very few people are going to get into these creepers. It's not what one should immediately think in regards to these shoes, but I don't think this will catch on if someone wanted to make these trendy. And you know someone will...

I think they're ugly and bulky, and I am disappointed that so many people have taken to them just because of their presence on fashion blogs.

I think they're ugly and bulky, and I am disappointed that so many people have taken to them just because of their presence on fashion blogs.

I only saw them on 2 fashion blogs. They gave me a new outlook on the shoes. I never really gave it much thought before, but I have always seen them as a goth trend - the fashion bloggers just shed a new light on them (more fashion than goth). The so many people who might like them now since viewing a fashion blog, probably feel the same way I do. Even then, I agree with John_M.. I doubt they will catch on.

i like them on punk rock guys and rockabilly guys...

^ same here. There was this guy when I went to high school that wore them. He was so hot haha all the girls were obsessed. I don't think many guys can pull it off though.

I think they have started to grow on me...didn't think it was possible, but I guess never say never, especially in fashion.

That's exactly how I thought of it. Never say never. The pair I ordered from TUK came today and they are absolutely amazing. They are soo comfortable. I wore them to my last class today and already I've gotten many compliments. currently my favorite pair of shoes by far.

Armand Basi showed some ...

Well... in regards to not being feminine, they are actually more unisex than feminine. And like most femmes tell me when there are shoes that aren't feminine or cute... they (creepers) aren't supposed to be feminine or cute. I'm sure you're not going to see shoes like these on Kate Moss or anybody, or at the most premier fashion shows.
