Creepers

At first, I absolutely hated those shoes. But I'm seeing them a lot lately, and I gotta say I'm starting to like them! I think they're a good alternative to the Doc Martens overdose.

Btw, I need those 5cm x George Cox Creeper Boot, they're amazing.

i got some marc jacobs collection ones on ebay a few years ago. don't know which season but i love them and my mom loved them so they had to look good.

Well, I love them. For me they're embodiment of rock'n'roll and only few clothing have such bold statement. Of course, seeing too much of them with "high school goths" or "Japan fangirls" might start to annoy - not only the people who hate the shoes, but creepers prefers.

I have two pairs, black and white, and I find them super comfortable, good quality shoes that can transform any boring outfit to something edgier. I also like it how versatile they are: you can wear them whether it rains or shines, winter or summer, for more formal situations and excellent for gigs. I've worn my white pair constantly for 5 years and there's no sign of breaking. Not many inexpensive casual shoes (Converse, Vans, ballerinas..) are so long-lasting.

I only just recently started to like them. previously to this, i have not liked them whatsoever... but the last week or 2 i just randomly changed my mind!

Does anyone know were to get some in Melbourne? I live about an hour from Melb (Ballarat) and i hardly visit Melb, but will be next week. So i have no idea were to get some... haha?

Somewhere where these is subculture going on. Particularly the punk or mod scene.

Creepers came out of the late 70s punk, ska, mod scenes, a modified version of 50s teddies. Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm would've sold them in their store "Sex" most likely. Here's an old shot of Johnny Rotten in a pair. Fun shoes, especially the pointy ones.

i never heard of these but i think they look really junky and big and would probably be heavy

I just LOVE my creepers so much, I have a vintage cheetah hair/black patent pair and an Underground monk strap black & white pair. I'm thinking about DIY bedazzling the b&w ones a la Sonia Rykiel and Dirty Flaws blogger:

You know, I actually hated them. But they would look cute with black over-the-knee socks.

I love fashion's take on creepers, Burberry's take were killer. I got a classic, pointy toed pair a few months ago with a monk strap and I can't stop wearing them... like I just feel so powerful (or something ) in them. They indulge my fantasy of owning a pair as a young angsty teenager, but I never felt hardcore enough to wear them then. Styled right, they're just perfect with pretty much everything! At the same time, I can't imagine just any one wearing them, so perhaps it's in the best interest that they're not too trendy or likable, as snooty as that might sound.

... if these images don't make you believers in creepers then I don't know what else would .

I love the original black ones, and am obsessed with the buckled, pointed versions in the last two images you posted (images here: http://forums.thefashionspot.com/showpost.php?p=8948651&postcount=98)

Where can I find them online? I haven't come across any websites that sell that variety.

I LOVE these shoes when they're classic and edgy (not crazy about the leopard print, plaid, etc. etc.). But then I love the beautiful percent of goth things.

where can you buy cool, not too expensive, edgy ones (^like you're talking about :) ) in the states? my mom's there right now, maybe she can check some out for me ^_^
