Daily Exercise

I went for a short run along Lake Michigan last night. I'm working on training for a 5K

Best of luck:flower:

I changed my routine slightly today.
Still have the same basic structure.
Today, warm up, stretch.
Eight sets of dumbbell bench press. Second set of four sets increased weight, with negative reps' thrown in for that little something extra.:woot:
Four sets of pull overs.
Four sets of dumbbell flys.

Agree with Chrisdesigner, best of luck :flower: I'm signed up for a 10K on St. Patrick's Day. Have had to take a break from the running part of the training the last few days though...

This morning: 30 minutes of weight training. Later: 1 hour of yoga...it will be my first try!

Here's my weekly routine:

Monday: 30 minutes cardio and core training *or* Pilates mat work

Tuesday: 30 minutes cardio and core training

Wednesday: 1 hour Pilates personal training (equipment)

Thursday: 30 minutes cardio and core training

Friday: 30 minutes cardio and core training

Saturday: 1 hour Pilates personal training (equipment)

Sunday: Relax!

SirSunday.....Salute.

Today:
Warm up, and stretch.
Eight sets of barbell curls, increased weight on last four sets. All with negative reps, and reps performed slow and steady, as with all exercises.
Eight sets of standing barbell French press. Increased weight on last four sets. I use a curl curling bar for these.
Four sets of standing overhead dumbbell extensions.
Four sets of tri-cep dumbbell kick backs.

Daily exercise...
Monday - 45 min to an hour of strength training
Tuesday - 15 min abs class & 1 hour kickboxing
Wednesday - 45 min to an hour of strenth training
Thursday or Friday - One day is usually cardio for an hour, the other day is rest.
Saturday - 15 min abs class and 1 hour kickboxing
Sunday - I usually rest or try to do a little cardio at the gym

I'm thinking of using this thread as a measure of accountability for myself to stick with running when I should!

Chrisdesigner - thank you for the support. Your lift routine puts me to shame...but a goal to work towards. ^_^

shoegal2183 - that's precisely why i post in this thread - i don't keep track otherwise. we'll be watching ;)

This afternoon - 30 minutes of yoga - that IS exercise! Running buddy had me run 2.2 miles to get back on track. 12 more practice days left...

^whoops. i re-read what i wrote, and i didn't mean for it to sound like i was mocking yoga (if that is how it came across...) it is a test of whole body fitness, and i was not able to maintain positions as long as everyone else. i agree, this is a valuable component to the exercise regiment and a practice that i should incorporate regularly.

^^

hehe...i didn't think you were mocking it at all! I was just seconding what you were saying.

45min swim for the past two days. i've been slacking, only swam for 45mins instead of an hour. ideally to lose weight, i need to hit 1 hour. maybe tmrw i might do the full hour.
