Daily Exercise

Thanks Filipe. :flower:

I am one who highly rates swimming, as well as other forms of exercise. Seems pretty appropriate considering the time of year aswell.
I think maybe theres the potential to gain alot from swimming. But as far as its effectiveness in burning calories, it depends, on a variety of factors. Intensity, duration, age, sex, what level of fitness, and body type etc.
Although, an article i read recently, did suggest that as swimming used more muscle groups, it could be said it burnt more calories.

I have been walking to and from work now that the weather is nice! I need to get back into my routine...my vacation threw me off a bit!

Theme Swimming:

Well there´s something that Im not sure, is that some ppl say that girls who begin to practise with like 8 year old or what, and they do intensive trainings until 18 year old for example, so they passed the growing phase and some girls get large backs and that dont fit with the delineation of the body.
And some ppl think that this is really bad for womens who practise swimming, because their body will transform in a form of a V.

So...Chris and kmccormi what you say about this?^_^

The word that sticks out is "intensive".
Younger people, of either sex, should really vary there exercise activities.
As well as psychological pressures, from intense exercising, there is also concern regarding some developing areas of the body, not being strong enough to cope, therefore leading to long term injuries, in intense exercise.
The "V" is in fact desirable to some people. Not to others. But with any form of exercising, one should be aware of the results.
That said , some studies have suggested that growth rates can be affected. Although, this is again linked to intense programs.
And younger people sweat less per BM.
Although, this really draws the need to implement a schedule, that defines the stage you are at, and your objectives, short, and long term.
There are of course negative issues in not exercising, in people of nearly all ages.
I think it wise to use the magic word...................Balance.
A lady at the swim club i used to attend, was as you describe. She was the most graceful, powerful lady swimmer there. So was this a consequence of her swimming time.....or was she a natural.....?
By way of a similar comparison, say the small stature in young gymnast's, is this cause, or selection........?

Another stupid week: tuesday 5km run
Friday 10km "trip" 7.5km run and 2.5km power walk

I'm always hungry after swimming...so that's why I usually don't like it. Otherwise I'm never hungry after working out.

^^U never have hungry after working out in the gym, because u probably are drinking water over and over again at the same time u work out.
Try to go to the gym and dont drink nothing and then tell me if u dont feel hungry.

For me feels good, It´s like, I do swimming and then I come back to home to dinner, and feels awesome:)

Spinning Thurs

Spinning Yesterday both 45 mins

Today Ah... Yoga!

Keep up the good work everyone;)!

My schedule..

Monday: Spinning 45min + Weights

Thursday: Pilates 60min

Friday: Core 30min + Spinning 45min

Today: 6km walk outdoors + Pilates 60min

This has been my weekly exercise 'schedule' since late March, and I really enjoy following it.. I'll have to change it in two weeks though because my gym's summer schedule starts then - thinking about adding swimming and trying yoga once a week. Exercise makes me happy.. I used to be a complete couchpotato until last year but now I've finally found exercise that I love :woot:

Turbo jam 3 and Pilates for the past 2 days, Friday I did Turbo Jam 3 again and Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Level 2 and haven't sweat that much in a long time!

Thx Chris for the explaination, karma for you

No worries.
Thank you, i am very grateful.:flower:

busy week. this morning: ran 6.6 miles.

SirSunday for President! B)

Interesting. Exercise generally suppresses appetite, including period after.
Very possibly due to temperature, why you have appetite after swimming.

Finished routine this week:

Stretch , warm up.
Twelve sets of squats.
Eight sets of leg extensions.
Dumbbell Oblique Side Bends, eight sets.

Hour of rowing.
700 Sit-ups.

Truly amazing work everyone!! You are all awesome. :woot:

I think is very simple, when u are at the gym u are always drinking and that doens´t give u hungry.
Swimming u are not drinking (if not some pool water:lol:) nothing neither eating lolol
Sometimes when I finish my training at the swimming pool I feel like Im almost fainting, but I always carry with me a botle with water.

yeah, this could be it. but i never feel like eating right after working out... i eat anyway because you have to but the next day i always eat a little bit more than usual. i don't know. i guess everyone is different.

today i only walked..but tomorrow i'm planning to do a long work out. if i'm not sick..my throat is acheing a little bit. does anyone know if it's bad to work out when you have a cold? ( like throat ache and so, not fever)
