Daily Exercise

60 minutes on the elliptical. Now that is tough. I can never go past 40 minutes on it, anybody tips?
 
how do you make the elliptical interesting? i never feel like it is doing anything, and i'll put it on a high enough resistance (12-15).... i take it you guys feel like it is a good workout? i'm a runner normally.
 
^I'm the same... I dunno why, but the elliptical doesn't seem to work for me(?) It SAYS I'm burning calories and it SAYS I'm running 6 mph, but I don't feel it...

...which is why I walk/jog on the treadmill... I definitely feel that.
 
I prefer the elliptical partly because I HATE running on the treadmill. I've never got the hang of it, and tire out in 2-3 mins. It seems amazing to see people jog (run, more like, especially when they set the speed to about 9km/h) for 40, 50, 60 mins on end. :shock: It's strange, because I can WALK at those speeds (I usually set the speed at about 7.5-8 km/h), but I start panting and sweating like nobody's business when I try to run, and like I said, it tires me out quickly.

I set the resistance on the elliptical to about 20-25, and have no trouble working out for 60 mins. I guess it differs from person to person, eh?

On a noter note, I was thinking of trying of Tracy Anderson's cardio workout in the gym, but am feeling a bit self-conscious. It looks a bit ridiculous, and I fear I'll be stared at, which is frankly very tiresome and embarrassing.
 
30 mins on the elliptical
30 mins on the cycle
15 mins on the tread mill

Made a stab at the Tracy Anderson Iron-Man 2 workout, managed to complete about 5 mins of it. :ninja: Will give it another go tomorrow, I reckon.
 
45 mins on the elliptical
45 mins on the cycle
30 mins on the tread mill
45 mins of weight training
 
Split it up in to three twenty minute sessions until you get used to it.

I've been taking some rest these last days... I don't recall going to the gym on Sunday so I probably didn't :lol: but I haven't gone once this week (yet).

Yesterday I did the 6 min sitting arms work-out from the Tracy Anderson method but not much else...

15 mins on the elliptical
30 mins of free weights



It was supposed to be my off day, but I did end up hitting the gym for a mini-workout. Doubt it did me much good, as I hogged a Black Forest gateau minutes afterwards (it was my co-worker's birthday).

30 min power walk and run.
15min legweights

Monday-
45mins weights

Wednesday-
45mins weights
22 mins power walk and run
 
30 mins on the elliptical
30 mins on the tread mill
30 mins on the cycle
20 mins on the rowing machine
30 mins of weights
 
Yesterday: 30 minutes stationary bike.
Today: 1 hour stationary bike + Stretching. My hamstrings are well, hamstrung. lol.
 
wow you guys do so much exercise, especially you pavonine! I feel so slack.

I can't remember when I last posted so i'll go by Saturday.

Saturday: 45mins TRX ropes and 22 mins treadmill
Sunday: 35 mins run/power walk treadmill and about 20 mins weights (legs + arms + abs)
Monday: 45 mins weights and 22 mins power walk/run......

I am desperately trying to shrink my behind and inner thighs but nothing seems to be working :( Any ideas?
 
So.... ended up doing more exercise in the weekend than the week. Weirdo.

Thursday: 1h30 stationary bike + Nike work-out (legs)
Friday: Swimming (no timing)
Saturday: Swimming + 1h15 stationary bike
Sunday: Biking (no timing)

Hope to get back on things this week! As I have a race Sunday... :blink:
