I usually just do 30 minutes of cycling, 15 minutes of running and 15 minutes of toning. For me the main purpose of exercize is to build up my strength and stamina, not for any esthetic reasons.

How do you do 'toning'?

^ 'Toning' of the muscles is usually done with resistance training (weights). By using low intensity (~40-60% of your 1 rep max), high repetitions (~15-30) and fast movements, you will work on slow twitch muscle fibers. This will increase your muscle density without increasing much size.

I'm currently doing a 5 day program of resistance training and 3 cardio sessions a week. Am happy to say I've only missed one session this year... so far :ninja:

And grats to everyone who's making an effort to exercise! :flower:

walked 2 miles
20 minutes jumproping
1 hr Pilates
(I barely had any time for exercise over the week!)

today:
30 minutes running on treadmill (8 incline)
30 crunches, 30 situps (I know it's sad but I'm working back up;) )
weights (different ways... usually 60-100 reps depending on the type of exercise)
200 leg lifts (100 each leg)

Sigh. I need to jump-start my workout plan again. I lift weights here and there, do Pilates here and there... walk plenty... but it's nothing like when I'm outside in the summer, running/walking and biking.. Darn the cold of Chicago.

Today

At the Park: stretched, 20 pushups... walked 5/8 mile, ran 2 miles, walked 5/8 mile, stretched and 20 more pushups...
Back Home: 30 crunches, 30 situps and weights (different ways... usually 60-100 reps depending on the type of exercise)

Spinning 60 minutes.

same here;) and also some butt lifts.

My throat is hurting since yesterday and I have the feeling that I might get a little sick..do you think I need to take break from exercising?I'm not really sure whether it's ok to work out then.
Thanks for any opinion:flower:

I got up this morning and did one of the segments of the Davina workout video, cardio box. Not bad, actually :p

Let's keep each other motivated!!

Sunday - 1 hour Pilates
Monday - 1 hour cycling class
Tuesday - 1 hour body sculpt class (cardio, weights, abs), 10 minutes stair climber

Today - I'm taking a day off - work all day and two meetings tonight until late so I can't go to the gym. My plan is to eat very light for dinner, maybe egg whites on 1 piece of wheat toast.

My pants are already fitting better!!! I am looking at pics here of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition for inspiration.

Today

At the park: Stretched and did 20 pushups.... walked 5/8 of a mile, ran 1/2, walked, ran, walked..... stretched and did 20 more pushups

At home with 6.5 lb dumbells: 50 curls on each arm= 100, overhead exercise 50 reps, "butterfly" 100 reps...
