A question for those who do yoga: What are the benefits?

As in...yoga alone won't be something to do for weight loss is it? I'd probably have to pair it with cardio still right? ..and same thing with pilates.

yea.i know pilates is based more for toning...im not so sure about the toning effects of yoga.

iv only done yoga a few times and personally it really helps my posture,if not only for a short while after as my posture is awful, and also really relaxes me.i did find it a little tedious as i never attended a class.

but i did enjoy power yoga more

My usual routine consists of 1:30-2:00/everyday weekends off. I usualy do one hour 45 minutes to 1 hour on the treadmill. Then I do 100 sit ups on the Ab King Pro. Followed my 15-20 minutes of skipping rope. 100 arm lifts with 15 pound dumbells. Then a variety of aerobic moves with dumbells, jumping jacks and so on. I'v been doing this routine for about 3 months and I have lost 27 pounds. I feel much better and healthier.

Keep up the great work everyone! :D

Today I did:

20 mins pilates + 30 mins of yoga + 100 crunches + 50 of the bicycle move for abs.

I'm so lazy.. but when I do get the energy to work out I usually do two routines from Carmen Electra's dvd (cheesy, yes! but fun) and then my own workout routine for 30 mins ( I time it with a playlist on Itunes) which involves a lot of ab workouts and pushups, and then 10 mins of pilates/yoga :) I think I'm gonna do that today!
