Daily Exercise

Pjflex.gif

This is since I started my new workout. I know, I look funny :P

I started Ballet (hour daily), run (20-30 minutes) every other day, lift (every other day). I have a lot to owe to ballet, it's toned me beyond belief. I recommended the DVD's for "New York City Ballet Workout" and it's absolutely fantastic. :)

Wow PP you look awesome! Ballet eh? I've heard great things from people who decided to take adult classes (for beginners). I figured since Pilate uses some ballet principles it'd be the same... obviously it isn't!

My report.

Wednesday:
30 Minutes on Treadmill with incline
2.5 minutes on rower fast paced
Inner thigh weight machine? 30kg 2x12
Lat pulldown - 45 kg 2x12
Seated Row - 45kg 2x12
Cable Row - 45kg 2x12
Pec Dec - 10kg 2x12
Dumb-bell flies 2.5kg each, 2x12
overhead Shoulder raises 2.5kg, 2x12
front shoulder raises 2.5kg, 2x12
bicep curls 2.5kg, 2x15
Seated press, 60kg, 2x12

I tried that "washing machine" abdominal move with a 10kg plate in my hands and really felt the whole torso area tighten up.

(mind you I skipped out on walking lunges, squats, the rest of the ab exercises, the tricep pull downs, and seated tricep dips)

I still managed to be at the gym for 2 hours!

^ I have my training so memorised that I never count the times per set when Im doing a exercise:lol:, I love is when Im increasing weight that I cant lift it alone that much and I need a bit of help, I call trainer there and then when Im doing exercise she asks, how many times are right now? I always answer that Im not counting and she gets mad with me, I know +/- of the training that I have to do bt I do each set until I cant hold it anymore, Im never focused Im always thinking in others things.

I know what you mean so much! I do simple laps around our school and the surrounding buildings in the mornings and there should be nothing to distract me (other than the football team practicing on a hill below me) but there is no reason I can't count simple laps from 1-5 :P. I start thinking and go off into a huge group of thoughts, just one after the other and I lose complete count and concentration. I love sometimes how if I run enough though, my mind just focuses to a point and it's the most amazing experience when running, it's like having total concentration. :)

Ballet gets me entirely focused though, I strive so much in it and don't let my mind wander once. It's therapy for me as well in many ways, I love it. <3

I moved house today... There was plenty of heavy lifting and cardio :ninja:

Alright so as of now my only daily exercise consists of yoga and/or pilates. I wanted to start jogging again but I get so anxious. After you haven't done something for a while its difficult to get back in to the routine.his sounds really pansy, but I haven't gone to my gym in a while and I'm kind of embarrased to go back there since I used to go there daily! Any tips to overcome that anxiety and get motivated to jog again?

Why you get anxious when you do jogging?
And why u get embarred to go back to the gym just bc u dont go there at sometime?

The only tip that I can say, is for you to start ur workout slowly since u dont workout at quite sometime, bt this Im sure that you already know.
Maybe you should get somebody to go with you jogging, is always nice, maybe you get motivated, if you get somebody special for you is even better, I bet you get motivated very quickly.

This happens to me when I'm listening to music and working out or when I'm focusing on not dropping the weight when I find it's burning... BUT that's what the workout sheet is for, because i usually do more of each rep on most exercises because i too get distracted, so im just reporting here what's written on my workout sheet :innocent:

My mind wanders when im doing hard inclines on the treadmill... I let it wonder otherwise I'll focus on the timer and wish for the pain and the 30mins to go faster.. where as if im not focusing on it, it seems to fly by

I personally prefer elliptical, bt I only do like 5-7 min in the begining and then 10-12 min before I finish the training, I dont have patience to do cardio-fitness, when Im there I try to do it very intensive to work and sweat more quickly to get off of that faster.

hahaha

I love cardio, i like the "fit" feeling you get when you start breaking down your barriers...
soon (like in a month or two) I'll be fine to run for a few minutes at a time.. yes I'm not a runner, I hardly ever run, actually I've never run. The last time i intended to I pulled my lower back. :(

I like fast paced walking :)

Well, since you dont run on the threadmill, you could do elliptical, bc seriously imo u are losing time since u dont run there, you can get better results on the elliptical.
And other thing...treadmill is very insecure, not insecure when u are just walking bt when you are running yes.
The last time I did treadmill I put 16.0 of speed and I had to grab the machine with one arm bc u never know, u put a bit of ur foot out and then u hit the ground.

For ur lower back I would say that if u use this u will never have pains:

I just did that new york ballet workout thing (because prettypouf said it works!) and now I am going to have a walk to the gym. I might not do much there but I broke my hairdryer so I am using the ones there!
