Slightly off-topic, but this is a question which has been bothering me (ever so slightly) for years and years... I don't understand when, for instance, Blondie is called punk. Punk to me is dirtier, rawer; Sex Pistols and safety pins, sort of. Bands and looks like Blondie's are quite polished after all... Why is it punk?
There seems to be a divide about classification on the two sides of the big pond?
Am I simply confused?
