At Bergdorf’s last weekend —on a rainy Saturday with many, many shoppers from all the ritzy hotels nearby who had nothing else to do but spend money—and the Balenciaga salon was deserted. There wasn’t even a shop person standing around waiting for a buyer.

All other shop spaces were brimming with clients.

The fat lady hasn't sung.

They are attempting a recovery---which we knew they were going to. The sales have yet to bounce back. Budgets are still slashed.

Paying a bunch of actors to wear the clothes at a Kering event at Cannes is hardly the triumphant return.

But besides the scandal etc the clothes are ugly and horrible and we are over Demna’s whole point of view!! We desperately need a new vision and this will really allow the brand to make a comeback that feels right!!

^ totally. Never waste a good crisis! The whole scandal and the aftermath would have been the perfect opportunity to start with a clean slate and a new aesthetic. People were starting to get tired of Demna's Balenciaga already but the whole ordeal completely accelerated that. I think it will be hard to reverse as long as Demna is presenting more of the same over and over again.
He can have all the support from Kering, Anna Wintour, Conde Naste and what else, in the end the fashion consumer will decide I guess.
