This may bring back sweet memories from the 80's of cutting your jeans off into shorts but it started to come back again last summer and is definately something I'm keen for, for this summer either hemmed or in the 'cut off' style but for me, in a darker denim (and preferably a bit loose).

There are a lot more photos out there but thought I would get this thread up and running.

hmm... i guess it could work in a loose denim, but tight cut-offs are just WRONG. not overly keen on this one.

i just made a pair out of some denim trouser jeans that i originally cut too short! awesome, now i'm trendy

Darker blue ones could work, but very distressed/light ones can easily look tacky & 80's.

I don't like this trend that much though, I like bermudas more when they are from other material.

Francesca, post a picture of yours :)

yeah would love to see yours frannie.

Kim, I think I've seen you mention these in another thread as well?

Like I said above, i prefer them when they are a bit looser and I don't like they way they've been styled in the shopbop pics. I prefer them with flats and flipflops

Definetily not with heels!

They right way to wear them is laid back in my opinion.

They are overly trendy... ...I don't usually like them, and I don't think I will this time around either.... :ninja:

Are people wearing them in Montreal kim? Haven't seen anyone round here wearing them.....and I agree whitelinen, the only way to wear them is laid back.

I like them, especially in a black denim colour. But to me, they have to be loose and frayed. I seem to remeber one of the Olsen's wearing them quite well.
It may be abit common but I do like them with gladiator sandals, or maybe with Ked style shoes.

I just bought a dark denim pair and will definitely wear them a lot this summer. Much better then last year's daisy dukes...

Denim or not, I love these they are seriously so great - I honestly dont care if they are trendy! ha ha I just picked up a pair of plaid ones at old navy for $20. :)

I got a pair last year (Hey it's always bermuda-time in Singapore ;)) and I agree, the only way to go for them is casual.

I cut my jeans few months ago, around the time I first saw lidsay wearing hers..... I wear them with leggings and flat boots, since it's too gold in here for anything else

I haven't seen anyone else wearing them around where I live, but I've seen them sold in shops

I like them i had a pair last summer and i cut a few pairs old jeans to wear this year. let me see if i can find some pictures

Great! Thanks for the pic punky! Was all you did just literally cut the legs off a pair of jeans or did you pull the threads a bit to make them longer?

they were af jeans but i didnt like them so i cut them and put them in the wash and thats how they came out.
