Global Fashion Icon Dita Von Teese to Appear in a World First at the 2012 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival

The L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) is pleased to announce that global fashion icon Dita Von Teese will be returning to Australia for the 2012 Festival. Dita Von Teese will appear on behalf of Target Australia on the LMFF Runway at Central Pier on Saturday March 10, 2012.

Following last week’s announcement of Dita Von Teese’s collaboration with Target Australia, lime door brands and Diamondcut International to launch her new lingerie collection entitled Von Follies by Dita Von Teese, LMFF is delighted to confirm that her appearance at the Festival will be a world first with Dita Von Teese taking to the runway to showcase some of her favourite designs from the new range.

The first pieces from the Von Follies by Dita Von Teese collection will be available in Target Australia stores nationally from early February 2012, with exciting new product lines to be introduced in March to coincide with her appearance at LMFF.

"I am delighted to celebrate the launch of Von Follies by Dita Von Teese, my debut lingerie collection for Target Australia at the 2012 L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival. I look forward to appearing on the coveted runway for the first time in my very own designs," said Dita Von Teese.

Graeme Lewsey, LMFF’s Chief Executive Officer is delighted to welcome Dita Von Teese to the 2012 Festival.

“Dita Von Teese is an international style icon and we look forward to welcoming her to the LMFF Runway. She will add undeniable glamour and a sense of theatre to the show.”

“Dita Von Teese has taken inspiration from her extensive personal vintage lingerie collection and has designed with real women in mind, catering for all shapes and sizes. This really captures the essence of the Festival which celebrates accessibility and individuality, we encourage shoppers to take what they see on the runway and make it their own,” said Lewsey.

Von Follies by Dita Von Teese was inspired by Dita’s long-time love of lingerie and the launch range combines sophistication and sensuality with distinct touches such as grosgrain and velvet ribbons, delicate eyelash lace, and control mesh to give the essence of the sultry 1950’s glamour girl. The collection will also be available for purchase online from the Target website (www.target.com.au) from early February 2012.
