Dita Von Teese

Really? I think she isn't apart from the trend as she's quite skinny and the only difference she has is that she has the implants to make for the "voluptuosness" but it isn't actually any different.
i agree - she's tiny.

^I think it's really funny that if a woman has breasts, she's automatically commended for breaking the norm and bravely living in the spotlight with a "curvy" body.
I'm 4'11" and 85 pounds, but I wear a D-cup, and I get that all the time. My waist and hips are tiny, but my boobs aren't, and that's the deal-breaker.
Anyway, sorry for the rant - it just seems like an odd but common perception.

She's about 5' a size 2 and admits to having breast implants. 'the smallest ones you can get' at a small C

Sorry if this becomes deja-vu for anyone, but I couldn't find this posted already...

I see the same thing all the time and I totally agree with you. I don't think being totally skinny with boobs qualifies for being termed "voluptuous".

I realize now after reading the comments posted after my comment on the previous page that I didnot represent well what I wanted to say. I am as guilty as the media ,that I criticize, for deeming healthy non skeletor people as curvy and this just wrong. I realize that big boobs does not qualify one as having a voluptous figure and Im sorry that I implied that. She does have quite the skinny waist and I guess Im just so brainwashed by model worship and my own body issues that I have struggled with for very long. I guess what I meant was she seems to celebrate being a woman and being confident and happy with her body and I envy that! I hope all different body types can be appreciated in the entertainment indusrty so all young girls and women can take it easier on themselves and celebrate their differences!

Melly, I hope you don't think that I was attacking you. I understand exactly what you were saying, and frankly I am sometimes guilty of the same thing. I used to be a professional ballerina (complete with eating disorder), but I suffered a knee injury and had to quit - and all of a sudden, I got boobs and gained ten pounds. So I had to rework my definition of thin to include women who are not skeletal and who have something up top, too. I think Dita has a gorgeous body, and she carries herself beautifully and with total confidence.

But I think you said all of that very eloquently, and I totally agree. No hard feelings from my previous post, I hope. :flower:

I met Dita Today where I work, in Soho. I was helping out in the retail store today and I got to help her. She is Abslolutley stunning and quite tiny in person. She was nice as pie. She even signed some books we have of hers in the store.

A thread reminder: please no focusing/talking on weight!
Go to the weight thread to discuss.
Please stick to Dita's fashion and style :flower:

I actually really appreciate what you said. I hope you don't think I was criticizing you. I was trying to say everything you just said here. Thanks for being so nice.

I really like all the charity stuff she's doing, but I just can't get it out of my memory when I read in a fetish mag years ago after an interviewer asked her her views on the war in Bosnia that were taking place (y'know - mass GENOCIDE!) that she "could care less". It was the ugliest, most horrid, vulgar thing I had ever read.

The dress and shoes are pretty, but that hair is... um, a little too Star Wars for my taste.
