I think every female figure in the entertainment industry, whether they're a singer, model or burlesque stripper, is surrounded by a fantasy of what their job is like, so I wouldn't single out Dita for being an unrealistic representation of her career choice.
After all, a model sells the fantasy that using your looks for a living is all about getting free clothes and constant adoration - leaving out the parts about having to rise at 3am for a photoshoot, constantly travelling and having to go on gruelling go-sees. And Dita's success makes it seem like stripping is all about having a fabulous wardrobe and performing in Las Vegas for film stars, leaving out the part about getting your start in a back street bar and having to overcome all sorts of stereotyping. But that's hardly her fault - like she says, she's trying to let her fans know about the reality of the situation.
