WHAT ARE YOUR WEARING?
Vintage 1940's lounging pajamas in magenta satin, chinoise style with very wide leg pants. When I'm relaxing at home, I love pajamas and robes... But the glamourous variety only, no plaid fleece, and no sweatpants!

WHEN DID YOU FIRST REALIZE THAT YOU MIGHT IN FACT BE A GLAMOROUS ECCENTRIC?
When I was in first grade and I was angry that I wasn't allowed to wear my fancy special occasion dress for school. I couldn't understand why I couldn't wear something frilly and feminine and pretty every day! It seemed like a waste to go through the day feeling ordinary. I began to plot my womanhood... I wanted to create glamour for myself, I promised myself I would dress like the femme fatales I saw in the old movies my mother and I watched together. I also used to steal my mother's lingerie to try on. I became somewhat obsessed with lingerie. To me, it was and still is a symbol of womanhood and femininity.

WERE YOUR PARENTS HORRIFIED?
When I was a teenager, they might have thought I was a little crazy for going out dressed the way I did, but I wasn't really dressing inappropriately for my age, I was just dressing in an unusual manner... vintage hats and dresses paired with corsets mostly. Sometimes I would even dress in man-drag Dietrich style. When I was 18, I remember being inspired by an erotic novel by Anais Nin and wanting to dress like a parisian lesbian in 1930's paris, so I found a vintage tuxedo, combed my my hair into marcel waves, and trotted out the door, bakelite cigar holder hanging from my burgundy lips. They were probably more amused by me than anything, not horrified. They thought it was just a phase.

ARE YOU PRONE TO MOOD SWINGS?
I'm not a very moody person, I'm generally quite agreeable and pleasant. But I firmly believe that what you wear affects your mood. The only time I'm really hard to be around is when I'm stripped of my glamour! I want my hair and makeup to be polished and just as I like it, and my clothes to reflect my mood.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN MOCKED FOR ANY OF YOUR GLAMOROUS ECCENTRICITIES?
Sure, all the time! But I take it as a compliment, actually. I love that people all have different ideals of what beauty is, I respect that. I've topped out the best dressed lists in Europe, and been ridiculed in the American press for the same outfit. I'll take the French putting their stamp of approval on my style over some trashy American tabloid any day! It's actually a true compliment when they say it's strange. I LIVE for being considered unusual! The kiss of death with regard to style and chic is to "follow" fashion, or to try to fit in with the norm.

WHAT IS THE MOST ECCENTRICALLY GLAM THNG IN YOUR CLOSET?
Perhaps one of the many pairs of shoes I have that are impossible to walk in. And when I say impossible, I mean it. We're not talking about 6 inch heels, we're talking about shoes that are literally meant to be crawled in... ! But I also have quite a collection of vintage hats, some of them with real birds on them, rare and nearly extinct birds. It's pretty eccentric for now, but it was the epitome of chic once upon a time. And I suppose some of my tightest corsets might be considered eccentric or shocking to some people. I love the idea of these things that are so extravagant being worn by women on the street at one point in history. Imagine if you could just have a peek at the most fashionable streets of Paris every 50 years or so from 1700 to 1950!

HAVE YOU EVER WISHED YOU COULD TRADE IN YOUR LIFE OF GLAMOROUS ECCENTRICITY FOR ONE OF DREARY CONFORMITY?
Never! Not even for one second. Dressing for glamour is what I dreamed of since I was a little girl, and I made a promise to myself at a young age to be what I always wanted to be. I dress for myself, not to impress anyone. It's something that is deep within me, a true love of glamour and what it can do for any woman if she wants it! It's not hard to look glamorous and be comfortable at the same time either, so comfort is no excuse.

WHEN DOES ECCENTRIC GLAMOUR BECOME IDIOCY?
I don't think it really does. Even when I see someone whose style I don't care for, I still appreciate that they are wearing what they like regardless of what anyone thinks, which is basically what I think of when I dress. I'm not trying to impress anyone but myself. I'm wearing what I think looks good on me, and what makes me feel best. I would never try to take that feeling away from someone. There is always some idiot calling come another person an idiot isn't there?

WHO IS YOUR INSPIRATIONAL ICON OF GLAMOROUS ECCENTRICITY?
The Marchesa Casati. I would like to give every person that thinks they are SO risque and so eccentric the book called Infinite Variety... so they can read about what eccentricity REALLY is and who was living it in a big way almost 100 years ago!

"I want to be a living work of art!" --The Marchesa Casati.

I also love Empress Elizabeth of Austria who seemed pretty eccentric to me too. Being corseted down to 17 inches in a flowing black silk riding habit and sitting sidesaddle.... JUMPING horses shows a real dedication to glamour, no?

DO MEN THINK YOU ARE HOT?
Some of them do, but you know, I wouldn't dare generalize.... everyone has a different idea of what is sexy, and I can appreciate and respect that. And I care more about winning over the women and inspiring them to dress up and embrace glamour than I do about making men think I'm hot. I'm a girls' girl- I think that the men aren't enough of a challenge! And I suppose it can't be denied that the gay men think I'm hot, and they're pretty much ruling the world of fashion and glamour, so I suppose I'm doing alright!

WHAT IS THE THING WHICH MOST OFFENDS YOUR GLAMOUROUSLY ECCENTRIC SENSIBILITIES?
When a magazine or photographer wants to photograph me with no makeup on, or in casual clothes. Sometimes I encounter people that want to be "the first" to get me au natural, but they are never the first, and it's so boring and so unoriginal to have that idea, actually. I think about women like Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe. They were never stripped of their glamour. They KNEW better. They knew what glamour means, and it's about the allure and enchantment of mystery. For instance, little Norma Jean was lovely, but she would have NEVER been the memorable icon we knew and will always know until she was given and embraced a distinctive look and style.

WHERE DO YOU WISH TO BE BURIED, AND IN WHAT?
I would be buried at Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris. I wouldn't want to be buried in anything TOO special, I would want to make sure my favorite pieces live on and are enjoyed by someone else! But perhaps it would be the ideal time for my most extreme corset and a pair of those un-walkable heels I was talking about...

Dita The New Face Of Cointreau
Wednesday, 12th September 2007

Sexy stripper Dita Von Teese has been named as the new face - and body - of Cointreau liqueur today (Weds).

The former Mrs Marilyn Manson, whose burlesque act includes stripping as she writhes inside a giant Martini glass on stage, will now be the brand's worldwide ambassador for at least the next two years.

The 34 year-old fetish model, whose real name is Heather Renée Sweet, said that she was delighted to represent the spirit.

She said: "For me, Cointreau is a quintessentially French brand, a product which transcends fashions and trends. I love its delicate taste contrasting with its strong personality. It is true that we were made to join forces around a cocktail glass!"

Dita, who is known as a tightlacer in the fetish world because she has worn a corset for so long that her waist has shrunk to a tiny 22 inches, has appeared on the covers of various fetish magazines, as well as more conventional titles such as Playboy.

Justin Weston, director of Cointreau International, said that it was her edginess that made her perfect for the brand.

He said: "After all, who is better than Dita Von Teese to incarnate Cointreau's famous 'be cointreauversial' attitude? Everything about her is cointreauversial - her personality, her sensuality, her provocative grace, her style that is all her own.

"We are delighted to have sealed such a relationship with Dita Von Teese. She is a magnificent woman who combines elegance and extreme refinement with a certain daring sensuality. I cannot wait to reveal the ideas that emerged from our partnership discussions."

She really is the perfect pin-up!

I was wondering whose body it was in the 2005 Victoria's Secret show. Amazing curves this woman has.
