Doc Martens revival #2

Doc Martens revival

OK Im not even sure if this is the right thread to post in so feel free to delete/or have a shift about.

Anyways ive noticed that alot of people are starting to wear them again ... i just kind of wondered if this was a global thing or even across england .. or just in my city maybe ... hmm just thinking aloud really.

Ok so i just wondered what you opinions are ??
and weather people in your area are wearing them again ??

Over here in liverpool the staple shoe of the season seems to be the doc martin lace up shoe, clumpy and totally ugly really if were honnest.. its amaizing how they have been made to look stylish and orginal, think im going to have to get my camera out and take some pics..!

Its definitely a world wide phenomenon. In Australia, docs are very popular among Hipsters. Docs are the original combat boot. I'm undecided re: docs. I thick their too heavy...

I think it's a global trend as well. You'll defiantly see them on trendy people in big cities in the US like SF & NYC.

but it's funny to hear how they've become such a trend among hipsters and what not. even before combat style boots became popular during the whole grunge explosion in the nineties, I've always associated doc martens with skinheads (the first youth subculture to embrace the boot). for me, that's why I fell in love with them. it was the look and meaning behind it, not so much it being the 'cool boot of the hour' because all the hip people are sporting them now. I wonder if they realize where it all started...

Lol, hipsters are into Doc Martens. They are very cool, if wore appropriately; but yeah, they are coming back this spring, at least.

i love that these shoes are still making a comeback!

They are quite old here in Australia most people started to wear them about a year ago, i have black and hot pink but i probably won't wear them any more, shame on me.

hahaha this is crazy my first post in this thread i posted 3 years ago, why it is saying two weeks ago i dunno haha.. im confused..!!

They've definitely been having a huge comeback within the past year! Dr. Marten jumped on the recent revival and opened new stores in NY and Toronto (which have been super popular). It's nice to see comfortable shoes back in fashion again, one can only wear heels for so long.

Definitely is happening! When I lived in Paris for the fall they were everywhere and back in Chicago it's more of the same.

I really can't wait to go the Doc store in NYC when I go home this spring.

I got to school next door to London Fashion Week and from what I've seen, ALL of the hip young things are wearing Docs right now. If it's not Oxfords or ridiculously tall heels/platforms, it's Doc Martens. Usually black or some other dark color and worn out. It's definitely part of the whole grungy look going on now. The famous Doc tag in the back is often not cut out.

i had the basic Dr. Martins in the nineties but sadly i sold them.

Now i bought the BLACK -PATENT LAMPER
shoes

I want a pair, but I'm thinking it will toughen up my look waaaay too much.. On the other hand I believe it's a great challenge to see how I'll incorporate it into my everyday outfits!

I have multiple pairs, and any time I see a pair of docs in the thrift store, I grab them. They're absolutely impermeable, so they're great for the rain, I can walk forever in them. New ones are really stiff. I recommend going for a secondhand pair if you're not used to boots like that. My favorite pair is covered in paint, they're my 'studio shoes' now, but they still go with everything. The only thing is that a lot of the time I am too lazy to lace them up all the way.

Are those the heel ones? I want a pair.
