Doc Martens revival

I have a pair of brogue Dr Martens (made in England) bought 7 years ago that are still going strong - they are a mens UK 5. I'm thinking of buying either one of these styles. Should i go for a UK 6 if I'm usually a US 7.5?

I'd say you should stick with UK5.

I have the Darcie boot (the plain boots with heels) in UK6 (which is the same size as all of my other Docs). I normally wear 8-8.5 US, and I'd say that the UK6 run a little on the big side, but the next size down is just a teeny bit too small for me.

Thanks so much for your replies! I'll get the UK 5 then. Just wanted to double check before I ordered since I would have to get them from the US online store since I can't find any here.

I am so excited. I just bought a pair of pretty much new, hardly worn 1490's of a friend for only $50!

So I am currently wearing them in (the fun stage ha ha). I owned a pair a few years ago (my first ever big purchase) and they were just the best shoes - I "clomped" in them everywhere. I used to wear black ones in school with fluro yellow laces Not sure if I will change the laces on the new ones though...

they look really nice long and patent, i want the ones that are like just below the knees so quite long and patent black,

Doc Marten Appreciation Thread

Hey everyone, haven't seen a thread on Doc Martens and i was wondering..does anyone else love these boots also? I just bought my second pair of Doc Marten Airwair 8eye boots today (I have a pair of cherry red docs in excellent/non broken in condition, and my second pair i just bought on ebay are black broken in/still in good condition). These boots are awesome, and i can imagine that im never taking my black ones off lol

Anyone else out there who owns/love these boots?

bought these on ebay, they came a bit ago. i love them. the leather's almost worn through in a small bit at one of the toes, any idea how to fix it? but other than that, great so comfy. i got them a size up so i wouldnt need to get used to the leather but they are fine.

also do doc martens need special laces or can you use any? they need new laces, definitely.

i got mine out of my closet lately
they are in such a great state ! i didnt even expect it
ill try not to overdo the outfit. leggins, a long printed tank top and a short jacket should be okay

I'm not sure how to fix the leather wearing through - maybe a good cobbler can put a patch of leather on the inside so it doesn't wear any more?

As far as new laces, there are specific doc laces, but if you get ones that are 140cm long you should be ok

I had those horrible open toe slip-ons. Wow, can't believe I'm admitting that.

I think some people are makin' it work with their clunky docs but I will definitely pass on this come-back. We love them on OJBG though ...it's set in the 90s. woohoo, what a misbegotten era.

I really want a pair but i've got size 41 feet.. Do they make your feet look bigger? Also, do they creat 'cankles'?????
