I'm just not sold on the toe of the Yohji's. I'm psyched to get my 1460's for xmas. I have to wait a bit though! Ah, the perils of being a poor law school student!

i also had a couple of docs back in the days. one silver i loved!!
but to be honest i find these shoes very ugly.. not everyone can pull them off.
i dunno, to me its like an UGG shoe or even uglier?

i would love to see post of you ladies wearing them though :)!!!

leyla, not everyone call pull off Louboutin's (as well as you) and look comfortable in them. I wear my Doc's with much more ease than I ever would wear the CL's. I've found they work well with much of what I have in my closet, which is considered "avant-garde" if anything, I guess.

Hi! I am a newbie here.
Ref to the topic, although we see a number of Docs own shops or counters opened in recent half year in HK, and some new style and tries, the trend ain't anything like 10-15 year ago. People have lot of choices this day. I fancy to get a pair of its boot but just a bit wonder if it's a bit outdated style or comfortable in wearing.

I don't think they are outdated at all. I still see many people wearing them, and they've been popular since the 70's with punks and Pete Townshend wearing them. Who cares? Fashion is about wearing what makes you happy IMO!!

So I ordered the ones shown above from vs in brown last week, impulse middle of the night shopping binge... They arrived today and well, now I'm scared i've been starring at them all day... I'm tall and well have stick legs and I worry that they will look like sudden bulk at the bottom of my feet!! Some of the images, with dresses / tights look hot... Do u think that's the best way to wear them, as someone who's usually a girly girl (the only other slightly bulky boot i have are burberry riding boots and they are soo not as bulky as these ones in the toe area).

They are soo comfy though, for running around town... How can u make them feminine?

PS.. i did not order real doc martens as I figured i needed a bit of heel height! ha.

also.. the ones i secretly want are these marc jacobs ones (image from style.com rtw f 06) where can u buy marc jacobs shoes from a few seasons ago, does anyone know?

Well, I don't know where to ask but I wonder how much a pair of Doc Martens costs in paris cuz I'm going to paris for christmas and the boots they're selling in norway aren't worth the price (Norway = expensive)

anyway, does it exist an own thread where you can ask? in that case, where?

lucky,
i never said i pulled CLs off better than the Docs.. i think at the time i did indeed pull my Docs off better ;)
i suppose i associate them with my grungy days and gosh i can tell you im sooooo happy those are over

but i might change my mind again :shifty:
would love to see looks with them on :innocent:

Emi, post pics of some of your outfits!

well...you'll find that in the "what are you wearing today"-thread...or on my Myspace-page...

someone asked abou the model of my docs...I think it's the "normal" "original" ones...14-something...I bought them second hand...

maiou, I love those with the pointed toe.

I must have a thing for docs...own the marc jacobs shearling ones, the chloe docs and the yohji version. next will be a floral doc with the pointed toe..

there was a picture of me wearing my junya dress with them...if I find it I'll post it here.
