Does This Work? Get Fashion Feedback Here.

argh...sorry for bad spelling...
not much time today...:flower:

Curious, I like the last look the best as well :flower:

Curious... I like the dress a lot.. but I think without something to create a waistline.. it's almost making you look bigger than you actually are in the hip/waist area...

Personally, I like the blazer look.. because it creates a waistline... but blazers aren't really wedding wear, ... or am i wrong on that.. I've been to only a few weddings.. all when i was pre-teen.. so what would I know!

That's just my opinion though...

curious  i love that first outfit with the chocolate skirt and tan shirt! i think the desire to wear that color of shoe is a good one, one that i'd totally run with..but the color is just slightly off for me. (bear with me here, i took way too many color theory classes for my own good ) i'm all about contrasting colors but somehow they are all in the same family or at least compliments, even if they are tertiary. for that combination of dress and shirt, i'd go with a warmer red color of shoe..maybe a brick red. the color of the shoe and the basic color of the skirt are sort of rusty, so a more rusty red would work better i think...the shoe you have there is more pink, i think. i do agree with softgrey i want to see the turq croc shoes with that brown outfit! i think that the chocolate color of the skirt and the cooler, brighter color of the turq would give that outfit the sort of kick i think you're going for. :)

in terms of the wedding outfit, i personally really love the middle one, with the white blazer. i agree that it needs more of a defined waistline and that the last couple seem to make you look wider than i know you are. i think i actually really love the shoes you're wearing with it also...and can even see it really working with the turq shoes too.

You really could get away with any color shoes with that dress... even orange. :D

^ i agree with luna that color navy is one that really works with so many different colors! especially since orange and blue are complimentary. but i could see it with seafoam green, peachy pink...go crazy! just don't divert attention away from the bride...

Maybe... find a funky belt to create a waistline?

i was going to suggest a belt....
something thin and tailored would be very smart....
anything to give your waistline some definition----we all know its in there somewhere..!

as for the shoes...
the peep toes are cute, but not my favorite for this outfit..
i prefer either of the other two..
the gold t-straps are actually very cute...

i think i like the black best, in terms of color on top...
the white is nice, but very bright..
almost contrasts too much, maybe?....it just takes something away..
too much 'pow'....you know?.... something more subtle might be better...

keep playing with it....
you're getting there...!

BTW, just had to say that you handle yourself BEAUTIFULLY with all this constructive criticism...!

curious i really like the shape with the blazer {like evryone else !}
i also like the sort of babydoll shape with the shrug !
i think it just depends on the look you want
maybe the more tailored look is better for a wedding ?
do you have to wear a jacket ?
i think a deep blue pashmina type shawl would look lovely !
or ! i think a cropped jacket w/a nehru collar would look perfect !

definitely try out a few belts !
a silk sash in an emerald colour would look amazing !
anything to play up the colour of the dress

& for the shoes i agree with softgrey. silver !
silver t-bar heels would look amazing !
or maybe round toes ?

Lots of feedback! Thanks everyone! Just need a little bit of time to process it all

.francesca & Soft - I see what you mean about the shoes. Didn't think of the blue! I'll try that and get back to you.. And .francesca - a pair of brick red pumps are on my search list :p

So, I can see the blk velvet is definitely out  Appreciate everyone's feedback (and the compliment Adorefaith ;)). No, I don't need a jacket Chanel, but it may get kind of cold so I should have one just in case. I'm actually hoping to dance the night away and leave the jkt/wrap/swtr somewhere else :woot: I do have a blk wrap, but I'm not sure how to tie it :ninja: I'll play with it and see if I can figure something out...

Well, I'll be back with some ideas. I picked up some silver strappy sandals, a cream pearlescent clutch and a blk cardi shrug. Will return...

Thanks again

issue....will you need to walk on grass?...:ninja:

if so...
i would suggest a high heel wedge...:innocent:

Curious, While I love your first outfit I don’t really like the magenta shoes with it- sorry!

Of your wedding outfits posted I'd prefer the options with the cardi- it looks lovely with this dress & more feminine IMO.

The black cardi shrug & silver shoes sound nice as well :flower: Have fun

How does this work? what about the colors? maybe with jeans and sandals?

I love these colors together! not even necessarily with jeans i think...would look great with khaki/gray green/slate colors as well :flower:

i agree with dream..i love the color of the cardi and the colors in the shirt together a lot! i think it would look really nice with a pair of slacks that compliment both the color of the cardi and the color of the shirt, like a khaki or grey like dream suggested.

good look, marcj!

So, I didn't get a chance to come back for round 2 :(

I wound up nixing the silver shoes b/c I decided I bought them b/c they were the best I could find and not something I was swooning over. They're in the return pile. I went for the romantic look after all. I thought it captured the spirit of the wedding better. It was a pretty casual affair. I actually did think about the grass, Softgrey :p Most of it was deck so I was okay, but I switched to flip-flops half-way through, anyway ;) As did most everyone for the hard-core partying

This is what I wound up wearing. I brought my black cardi shrug, but I didn't wind up needing it. Yay!! One necklace and bracelet were a gift from the bride. I layered another longer pearl necklace w/ it & I also had a beautiful white rose corsage w/ lavendar & rosemary sprigs pinned to my dress. It was so fun & beautiful and the dress was a big hit :flower:.

Had a great time!! Thanks for everyone's advice!

Thanks everyone! :flower:

I think I will wear the shirt and cardigan with some grey Marni trousers and perhaps some plain lather sandals. ;)
