Dolce & Gabbana S/S 06 Milan

i really liked it...i thought it was very d&g but many dont seem to like it :(

Has anyone seen the spring ads? Makes me want those dresses even more. I don't care what the snobs of fashion think, there were parts of this collection that absolutely rocked. Black, red and white are my fav colors.

Quite a few people here have disliked it- but I'm a sucker for a red dress!
I love the following

though perhaps without the ribbons at the waist and the flower corsages

and no tights

and simpler shoes, perhaps in black

I still don't see what's so wrong with this collection! It's my favorite collection EVER, with everything red, white, and black, and i think it's absolutely beautiful.:woot:

:ermm: Wow. not what I expected that's for sure.. seems like they haven't blown me away in a while and I really thought they would this time.

Well I cant say it was alll terrible, there were some nice pieces but I actually did not like the general presentation and just the fact that there were so many useless things going on...

basically dissapointed, but maybe its because I set my expectations too high.. ahh who knows.

I still ove this show one of the greatest i think, with so much elements, details, all models were beautifull wow emina is funny and lovely,.nice colours i thought the show is marvelous and original..and newI love love it... mostly i always expect sexy clothing and different like retro .. and fresh wearable clothes but you know they are getting better than then in the past ....

Miss Galliano: According to http://www.imaginaryrunways.com/ it's either Cavalleria Rusticana or Verdi's La Traviata (or both, consecutively).

Anyway, I must say that this Dolce & Gabbana collection blew my mind away. Regardless of the fact that some don't like it and some do, I'm head-over-heels for this whole collection =] First of all I think the country-themed runway was quite interesting, and all the straw in the models' hair somehow made them seem both ruffled yet elegant at the same time - probably some type of idyllic countryside feeling. And the big crinoline dresses were absolutely stunning - when I saw the video on ModTV's podcast I was like, "Wow!" when Gemma Ward glided down the runway with the large black-and-white-with-lace dress bobbing gently - it was absolutely beautiful (And the ModTV podcast combined the show with Madonna's "Forbidden Love" from the Confessions of a Dancefloor album instead of the original runway music - I must say the music DID complement the show, no matter it's Madonna).

This is the dress I'm talking about. It bobs around very gracefully.

I think this is very pretty too. Especially the feathers.

Don't like this one as much as the other big-dress designs; this one reminds me of a dress randomly assembled with pieces of blanket fresh from the laundry.

madame butterfly??? or cavalleria rusticana???
which song from madame butterfly? the verdi song...from samples I've heard of it...is only instrumental. i need the name of the the opera song!

It could be La Traviata because it's a very very long opera work and there are bound to be sections which are purely instrumental (especially the overtures). Either that, or the recordings that you heard were meant to be instrumental versions.

I am unsure if Cavalleria Rusticana is a separate piece or part of La Traviata (I am honestly no expert in opera, or classical music for that matter) though.

By the way, could somebody tell me (I know I'm digressing) if it is perfectly fine for me start my own thread solely for my own runway reviews? If yes, where would the thread go?

Half the dresses I love, the other half are

I loved this one so much I now own it!

:woot: It's incredible! Where did you wear it? it seems like an "occasion" dress.

btw- is the bow sash thing attached, or can it be removed and switched off?

I found the name of the song....

the song I was looking for IS from Verid's "La Traviata," but it isn't 'Prelude,' like everyone's been telling me, it's actually 'Dammi tu forza, o cielo!" There you go!

....thank god for adtunes.com....
