Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2013 Milan

I see everyone is complaining about the potato sack dress, but is it just me or is that not even the worst thing about the collection? I think the whole thing is an abomination.

Good god in heaven, please, please, PLEASE make it stop! I'm longing for something new from them. I well and truly am.

What the hell were Dolce & Gabbana thinking? There past 3 collections were bearable but this season with those basket like corsets and sack potatoes as a dress, they've obviously run out of ideas. Lace and the Siclian theme is so tired already but knowing how there PR works, every celebrity will still be wearing this from Lady Gaga to Anna Dello Russo.

"Sicilia" announced dresses made from raffia sacks that might have held flour in a past life. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana returned one more time to Dolce's native Sicily for Spring. Side by side with those raffia numbers were umbrella-stripe separates, dresses printed with street-theater puppets, and tops and skirts emblazoned with the collectible head-shaped vases and dishes native to the Caltagirone region. The models wore souvenir scarves in their hair and chandelier earrings in the shape of those street puppets. Sound kitsch? You bet it was, maybe even more so than their hot pepper fest of a Spring show last year.

The designers have landed on a winning recipe and they're sticking with it. Once again, this was a crowd-pleaser of a collection. :lol:yeah right:lol: The show-closing corset and "crinoline" made from bent cane like classic Sicilian baskets sparked a spontaneous round of applause. But if that won't find its way into anyone's closet, much of what was on the runway today will. The striped pieces deserve a special callout; they had a casual appeal that felt fresh for the designers.

As successful as the Dolce & Gabbana formula is, though, it's starting to become almost too predictable. It might be time for the pair to move outside their comfort zone.

The colors and the prints wooooo very summery and sultry but I kind fond of dolce classic black sheering and lace instead. I feel those looks just break the whole mood and tone of splashing colors and prints.

I enjoyed it as a comic book, maybe a Tintin story called "Zombies of the Sicilian Deli".

some of the items could be pretty if they didn't make so much print all over them, and i do like the hair and make-up with the earrings but put it all together and every look is just a chore to look at in the end :lol:

i would call it a tragedy of epic proportions, but that would involve too much investment in a brand which has been serving the same lukewarm meal for too long

Well... I have to disagree with most of you. I don't love it like I have loved Dolce & Gabbana before, but I do like it. I agree that the Sicilian theme is getting exhausting, but the prints are great to me, the striped pieces are beautiful and the accessories and shoes are (most of it) to die for! I'm sorry, I just adore D&G and I think they are awesome!

Not the best collection, I know, but it's fine by me.

Is this really so bad? The prints looks great, perfect for someone going to be in the Mediterranean, Brazil, South east Asia or anywhere in the tropics, and knowing them, the materials and cutting isn't going to be poor, even the proportions and accessories looks good....Esp if you have a nice tan to accessorize. The only thing I dislike is perhaps the black lace see thru dress they have been including so often.
As long as you don't wear this during fall/ winter, I don't see any issues with this
I also like jil sander, but surely all designers can't be the same?

They deleted the video from my channel (S/S 2013) and informed me that he had many offensive comments about the brand, I hope not sell all that striped dresses. LOL

Where is democracy? :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
