Spring 2000 is one of my favorite Dolce & Gabbana collection ever…

I watched the show and I must say that I loved playing the game of finding the references. It’s a best-off collection obviously….
As lazy as it is, it was a « good moment ».

Spring 2000 is one of my favorite Dolce & Gabbana collection ever. The soundtrack, the girls, the set, the clothes, the tackiness…Such a great collection.

It was nice to see the references to that collection and to 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2009 collections.
It kinda reminds me of the time I actually enjoyed Dolce & Gabbana…When it wasn’t necessarily the clothes, it was the energy. I haven’t bought any of their clothes in years but it reminded me of the time it was one of the brand to buy from…

BUT for some reasons, the whole thing feels very low-budget. The cast is weird, the feeling is weird. They have managed to create a universe with their brand and this felt like a parade of throwbacks for millenials. I think the effect here feels flat compared to when Donatella or even Tom reference themselves.

Their clothes are worn by top models of today so it replace them in a different context. The irony is that this, in the end feels more D&G than Dolce & Gabbana.

merry mae opening was good. that's about it. would have been cool to see giovanna mariacarla naomi and even riley keough. something in the same vain as spring 2004 which this show referenced so heavily print-wise. they brought such life and sex then, this is an uncooked chicken cutlet, unseasoned...

also the set is giving me big celine ss19 vibes like textbook tbh

Who is buying Dolce & Gabbana in 2021? I'm very curious to know who the average Dolce & Gabbana customer is. They're clearly making enough money to have survived this long. This casting is...bad but at least it's not influencers and celebrity spawn.
