Well, he sort of did with Vinyl but Edie's just sitting down. I wish she was dancing with Gerard! It's funny how Andy had such marvellous people doing boring things, his films are still great but it's such a waste.

I think most people would end up looking like hookers if they tried to do her makeup.

If they just slap on a hell of a lot of kohl, then yes, it will probably come off very trashy. But if they put time and effort into detail as Edie did it's possible to wear it heavily and look beautiful. That applies to any makeup style really. Marilyn Monroe wore layers and layers of makeup just like Edie did, and she never looked clownish even though most people who attempt her style do.

I've never tried to copy Edie's makeup, though I would love to. My favourite part of it is how she whitened the eyelid and drew a thick black line on the crease.

I just thought it would be really fun to have all of us fans interpret her makeup and post pics here^^ Also there are not that many pics of Edie in color and I think the black and white makes the whole look a bit more neutral.

^ you're right, it'd be so much fun. I'll give it a try maybe...if it comes out good I'll post a pic :)

So do I, although black and white added to the glamour of the times. I do wonder how much colour Edie wore because I always assume she's just wearing neutrals in B&W photos. She looked so beautiful in colour, I love her rainbow dress in Ciao! Manhattan.

^that dress is one of my fav´s too! I always thought she´d wear only b&w but she wore so gorge colours in the pics by nat finkelstein.

I read some of the chapters from the book Edie from Jean Stein and there was section where Wesley Hayes (Butch in Ciao) says there was a good amount of footage shot spontaneously of Edie when she became hard to handle and how drunk she was during the filming. One person said she felt that they were gonna wipe their hands clean of her after they finished filming so she'd come up with new ideas for more scenes like doing little dances for the crew to shoot. She appeared to me as someone deeply scared to be alone.

and another thing, wesley said she once asked if Paul America is here and he'd tell her 'Edie where in California not New York'
