I was watching an interview with Cindy Crawford and she was talking about a designer (I believe it was Versace or Cavalli) and she credited them with creating the supermodel. They were the ones that took the girls from the magazines and put them on the runway. Suddenly, a model was doing everything, as opposed to being just an editiorial model or just a runway girl.

So what do you think about that?

There are some models who are amazing in editorials that look akward to the catwalk, and there are some who look stunning on the runway, who bring nothing to photographs.

Should some models so one or the other, or do you like the fact that there is a mix?

In my opinion, I think it's cool that models can do both, but they really should be trained before just throwing them out there...especialy on the runway. A strange walk can detract alot of attention from the clothes, which is not what the designer wants.....:flower: ....the same can be said for eds..a little direction can go a long way....

Well I guess it would make sense for the girls to do both in today's industry.. doing runway helps get you campaigns I would imagine, and high profile editorials definately help get you campaigns as well, and campaigns is where the $$$ is.

Tayla Collins though, amazing printwork, not so crazy about her on the runway.
