That smoky eye and middle parting does wonders for Emmy!! She reminds me so much of Rooney here which is a compliment.

Finally a look that I love on her! So elegant, and sexy. She looks stunning.
Just curious: I love this look too, but I don't think that it's all that different from her usual style. It's DKNY which she's worn before and it incorporates a lot of elements we've seen in the past: the fitted top and full skirt and train, the criss-cross neckline etc.

I'm just kind of wondering what about this look works for you, because I know you're frequently critical of her style generally. Is it somehow the way that the elements come together or is it something specific?

I can sort of see the resemblance I suppose... (at least circa 2009)

First of all I don't mean to be constantly critical, so sorry if I come across that way. I am genuinely a fan of hers -- I think she is a fantastic actress, and drop dead gorgeous.

I actually like quite a few looks in that collage: the long white slip dress  the black and white long gown, and the copper gown is pretty good too.

My problem with her style is she usually looks aged beyond her years. Her style is very sophisticated and NYC, but sometimes if comes across more as middle-aged and WASPy.

This low-cut light mauve look is more daring, and is not something you are going to see on a cast member of Real Housewives of NYC or (to be slightly nicer) Revenge, unlike a lot of her other looks.

To me she is someone who should be wearing Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Balenciaga, Dior i.e, the best brands. YES, I know that we have plenty of actresses already in those brands, but to me Emmy who is sassy/yet still elegant and has a killer figure would be knocking us dead if she wore them, unlike the Jennifer Lawrences and Diana Agrons where you just go "ehhh".

Just to see her once kick aside the Marchesa, Elie Saab, Monique L Hullier, J. Mendel and wear something "cool" and youthful is why I linger long around his thread.

Oh, I wasn't criticizing at all! I always got the impression that you were a fan, who liked her and wasn't always 100% on board with her style! But that's what we're all here to discuss! :flower:

I was just curious as to why this dress stood out to you more than others have, since it incorporates a lot of what she's worn in the past. You answered my question. Again, I'm really sorry if I cause any offense!

I tend to like her sophisticated NYC style, though yes, occasionally she take it to the point where she's dressing too old. I think that she's worn quite a bit of Dior and Chanel in the past though.
