I was looking at Joaquin sites, and they had an excerpt of an interview Eva did in Jane magazine where she talked about her new film "We Own the Night". She was incredibly sweet, here's what she had to say: (source: dearjoaquin.com)

Jane Mag: What attracted you to the We Own The Night script?

Eva Mendes: I love the darkness of it. But it's harder for me, emotionally. I think because I'm so new at drama. I take my work home with me. I'm an emotional girl. But Joaquin is the most amazing actor. He's so great.

JM: How is Joaquin different from other people you've worked with?

EM: He's so intense and dark and vulnerable at the same time. I've never found that in anyone else. Also, he's a real professional. If every other film I was in were made with him, I'd be ok with it. There are certain stars out there who are afraid that another actor will steal the scene, but he's not like that. He's very generous with everyone.
