i see lots and lots of lace and ruffles. i also remember seeing leg warmers quite few times at marc jacobs and chanel. and long socks for that matter.

but you never know which trends people are going to latch onto.

ooh motorcycle boots were another one, and thigh high boots?

edit: i'm still seeing all this tweedy material coming back this fall, but apparently the houndstooth kind of pattern is coming in.

Plus arm-warmers at Chanel, and the thigh-high boot paired with gloves of equal leverage at Anna Molinari.

^ in a.f. vandevorst they used leg warmers as arm warmers just to mix things up even more.

Lots of great trend spotting for f/w. I think all the colors are so spot on and I do think that victoriana can translate. For me for fall, I'm definately going to look for a very full silhouette or else something very sharp and neo-minimalism is a great term lena.
Just from my own personal head and not necessarily anything on the runway, I think maybe s/s 06 for even f/w 06/07 I'm definately going to get a more late teens/1920's vibe. i don't feel it ever came to full force. just the sort of short wavy bobs, the sort of elongated v neckline (if that makes sense), very Gosford Park.

lace is a BIG hit for fw05.06 and shows to continue well into ss06

i just thought of something else. i noticed a big focus on the neck throughout the f/w 05 collections - polo neck jumpers seemed to reoccur as well as big necks on dresses and t-shirts:

Yep, I think Victorian style-a bit kinda Lemoy Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, will be popular. Besides this, I think there's some sort of glam rock revival going on, with the heavy makeup, sequins and fur, but toned down a bit.

Oh, and the passion for shorts that weas omnipresent in s/s 05 is somewhat reinterpreted for fall, see christian lacroix( 1st pic ), Chloe(2nd pic )

^ uh huh, but if you're not up for that there are deep reds, purples and teals.

Vests look like they will be everywhere for fall, although I find them to be very frumpy and not at all flattering on many.

I'm liking the look of tight pants too. no more jeans please. So tired of jeans.

And shirts tucked in will become more popular too I think.

Nah i quite like the return of black, i feel like ive had to avoid it for a couple of winter seasons now if i want to follow a trend, but yay im so giddy about ot being back!!

^Agreed, that dress is gorgeous. Definitely some of that military influence with the sleeves. I think we'll be seeing a lot more of that especially in the mainstream fashion. I'm not too excited about the Victorian influence. It just seems that the lady like look has been done for a while now and this will just make the look even more tired. I'm ready for some fresh new looks, more modern. I love the look at the top of this page (post #61) . It also has those military shoulders. As far as black goes, I think it will be paired with rich, dark hues. Like the teals, reds etc. The one think I really don't want to see is the lace, ugh. I thought that was big a couple years ago??
