Paris is burning
Photographer: Steven Meisel (kind of an uncreative choice but all the other ones I've thought of where either too artficial or not high-fashion enough)
Model: Guinevere van Seenus.
Mood:
The lightning is supposed to look like this.
The main idea comes from the 2005 civil unrest in France (which started in a suburb of Paris).
It's at night and rainy. There're people being arrested, battered, cars are burning. But Guinevere is always the centre of attention.
1
Guinevere is standing in front of the Arc de Triomphe (it just can be seen in the background). She looks very aggressive and a couple of police men dressed in breaking-demontransions-uniform (i have no idea of the name).
Wearing this (without the headgear)
(Jean Paul Gaulter Fall 2009 and Alexander McQueen Fall 2007, which are worn during the entire editoral)
2
She and her fellow demonstrators (mainly arabian, african and asian teenager and young adults) are standing around a burning car. There people being arrested in the background.
Wearing this
(Christopher Kane Resort 2009)
McQueen Shoes again.
3
The crowd (remember: Guinevere is always in the centre of attention) is walking through the Grande Arche looking very determined.
+McQueen shoes
4
She is standing on a little plattform (which you can't see) and screaming to her fellow demontrators in front of the Notre Dame Church.
(without the tights and again with the McQueen shoes)
5
The big final.
The two big crowds. The angry demontrators (left) and the police on the right (with water cannons and everything).
There's an elongate, empty area in the middle seperating and two crowds.
You can see the Eifel Tower at the end of that empty area.
She is wearing this epic Alexander McqQueen dress
