Location: Sahara Desert Eastern Senegal so French Colonial meets lush arab tents, sisha/hookah smoke!

Story: Curious and chic Nomadic Girls who seeks out intense pleasure of the senses so think smell, taste, touch, sight, music inspired

Makeup artist: Pat McGrath (London) theatrical yet minimal/tastefull/commercial exotic makeup, think tangerine/apricot, intense purples, electric blues, Lily coles hair to be tassled down large with volume in a kind of unkept style

Models: Strong looks, Alek Wek in the day and Lily Cole (both from london) at night for contrast against their amazing skin tones

Clothes: A great variety of avant garde/slightly ethnic Couture Dresses with accessories from Lanvin/Chanel/ChristianLouboutin

Page 1 &2 for Smell on the first double page its daytime: Alek Wek who is wearing John Galliano Cotoure with her eyes closed and using her amazing smile and a look that emphasise the fact shes smelling, insence sticks candles/arab oud burning pots around. then Lily Cole similar eyes closed in a locked perfume factory at night wearing the Dior Cotoure from Printemps 2007

Page 3&4 for Sight/vanity first double page is gemma ward at night in a cave staring with her trademark end of catwalk pout into a grand morrocan blue mirror wearing, Then Alek wek wearing/advertising the 24 carat facial with a slightly shoked expression looking in the camera whilst posing with her Oscar de la renta

Page 5&6 for sound/hearing this i believe Vivienne Westwood rebel cotoure perfect for, alek wek in a westwood gown watching punky classical arab/african musicians then lily cole at night with one of those musicians whispering in her ear in an intimate scene with heels on on arabian pillow style bed

Page 7&8 for taste/gluttony Lily Cole with chocolate strawberrys laying upside down to the camera in Manish Arora on sand. Alek wek squats down in Manish Arora selling vibrant coloured sands disguised as exotic spices with a naughty look on her face!

Page 9&10 for touch now alek wek is with the classical arab/african musician and their back are against each other and they are wearing and both touching the intricate beading of the chanel cotoure wedding dress Lily Cole wore chanel 06 something more new though (nice and funny twist to the ending). While Lily is wearing chanel she is engrossed in feeling her chinchilla coat.

About the transparency story, i think i'm too much focusing on the transparency outfits... and i'm having problem to build a "real" good story... what is ok with transparency???
i really wanna do sthg with Jil Sander, Raf's last collection is fabulous... Jil Sander and All. Del'Acqua...
but I don't know... I actually think it's gonna into a lingerie meets tinkerbell... and I don't want this... I want sthg poetic... but enough tough to contre-balance the transparency...
it's stupid, I know... I'm not a stylist... but I would like to have some advices...

leather is a very chic contrast to transparency with black leather it creates an edgy kind of appeal, i like the idea though

I did this yesterday as I couldn't sleep...
The theme is basically "transparency"... I didn't want too much focus on a romantic thing, but it seems it turned out like that... it's not as though as i wanted... But i introduce something major... as I would like this story be part of art-scene...
So I want most of the pictures to be realized by artist (like Hanna Linden) or are realized with an artist (like Ann Veronica Janssens)....

every image are double page... (hopefully my invisible magazine and editor are paying me on pages numbers...)

first image :

the light of this photo would be realized by Michel Verjux (light artist)... In the morning, in a maison d'architecte...
two girls are ready to go for a long ride... you know sthg girlie like "we go walking to have a fresh air breath and talk..."

second photo :

the photo is shooted by Hanna Linden... in a savage garden... the girl are having fun...

third photo :

in this photo, I want to introduce this Mark Handforth sculpture (the tree with the candles) somewhere in the forest... I don't know if I want it shooted by Hanna Linden or any fashion photogrpaher influenced by Delphine Courtillot's paintings...

fourth photo :


the last two photos is like the girls are going their own way... one to the forest, the other one near the ocean (or a lake... or whatever)

Maybe we shoold start our own TFS magazine. God, are you guys stylists, photogs, or editors? Cause you should be! These stories are great. A TFS user contributed mag would be inspiring. Nothing like the back scratching fashion mags like vogue.

new story... i don't know about it...
but perhaps in studio...shooted à la Meisel (see Miss Shapes, and some of my references) I wanted to do the story I long thought about (you know sarkozy mask, schyzophrenic girls etc.) but it didn't work actually... eventhough some of those looks could greatly work, IMO...

it's a bit messy about the order appearance... only one page... except if the count isn't right for a story...
i had fun for some, so do not pay attention if you see cdg and balenciaga mixed...

I think this last story would take place in a market by different moment of the day... maybe in NY...
I saw this yesterday on tv... and it would give a good mood, imo...
as there are different looks (that i'm not sure about) maybe 2-3 models would be needed...
it could make a 8 or 12p. story
for instance : 2 girls with one wearing the jil sander + ysl and the other one the Yamamoto and Marios Schwab...
etc.

this seems like the sony bravia ad for colour LCD flatscreen... does anyone know if she was involved in that at all? i find it such a shame when artists' style are used and they are not even credited or paid,

wow, berlinrocks, the pics finally came up on my computer (my connection and i have a love hate relationship with images..) and i LOVE your transparency idea... i had read the concept (with no pics) ages ago just after i had been on the 'best fashion events' thread and was reading about those breakabe sugar dresses of McQueens... wouldnt that be an amazing story with the femininity, and fragile nature of breakable dresses and playing with transparent layers... .gorgeous... are you a stylist? aspiring? im just hoping id see this played out one day

The Editorial Challenge

I think we have one thread for this ... I want to revive it, but cannot find it !


So, because of the success of Vogue Cover Challenge, I thought it would be nice to revive this thread.
A mod' certainly would find it, non ?

Polyvore offers us the chance to create our 'dream' looks. But this thread should be something else (there's already a Polyvore Challenge) ...

So before a mod' find back the thread I'm talking about, let's go with an EDITORIAL CHALLENGE !

We would chose a theme (not an outfit !) and then people would do the shopping and the cast and chose their photographer ... You would have to create a 'real' story (ie not only decide the shopping, but be able to explain your choice and what's the concept behind ...) : not only use the 'white canvas' of Polyvore, but also find 'inspiration' images, create a 'situation' !

It's like a homework, non ?


The first challenge would be easy : PARIS !

the rules should be inspired by the Vogue Cover Challenge's rules ...
Let's the mod' decide what to do with this thread !
