Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, B.F.G..all by Roal Dahl. I also enjoyed Alice in Wonderland by Louise Carrol (probably mispelled her name..:innocent:)

Oh yes! The B.F.G, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The Witches (all fantastic!). Also The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton and the rest of that series.

I'm only reading it for the 1st time now (but its a childrens book) Le Petit Prince is absolutely gorgeous...

More later!

I loved the Little House series, the Phantom Tollbooth, the Velveteen Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland, James & the Giant Peach, the Ramona books, Wizard of Oz, etc. I also went through a Baby Sitters Club phase (Claudia was my favorite I remember)

twilightfairy, lewis carroll is a he:flower:
he also took wonderful photographs of the 'real' alice, if you're interested...

yeah "Through the Looking Glass" was a favourite of mine as well. Also, loved(still do!)the Grimm Bros.-particularly,"Little Red Riding Hood","Snow White" and "Hansel and Gretel"(in retrospect,it's really a wonder our parents let us read their stories seeing as how macabre and melancholy they are);C.S. Lewis' "The Lion,The Witch and the Wardrobe". And "Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving was actually another great read

gosh i really loved the enid blyton faraway tree books !!
as far as picture books go i loved hairy mclairy from donaldsons dairy lol

phantom tollbooth, roald dahl books, robert munch books, encyclopedia brown series..
someone mentioned the giving tree.. it was so sad.. anyone rbr "the light in the attic" by the same author?

roald dahl was banned in public libraries a long while ago where I am because apparantly he promotes racist stereotypes/ideals.. something along those lines.. is this the case in any other places?

many of the books you guys mentioned have brought back fond memories.. ^_^

(omg i forget the name, but my favorite book as a toddles/baby was about a little baby rabbit that said how he would run away, and his mother bunny told him how she'd get him back, it was so cute and sweet),

'The Runaway Bunny' by margaret wise brown I think?:flower:

Aargh, this is embarrasing since I can't really remember more than one book that I loved as a kid.

The only one I remember was; Curious George

When I was REALLY young, I used to make my dad read the Care Bear books to me all the time. When I learned to read, I could not get enough of the Ramona books by Beverly Cleary (Sarah Polley played her in the series!) and Superfudge by Judy Blume. They made me laugh for hours.

Die wilden Kerle and Räuber Grapsch and Momo by Michael Ende and also some book about a chimp called Jockla and of course one about a guinea pig called Max. and Die unendliche Geschichte by Ende, I forced my parents to read it to me at least a zillion times and as soon as I was able to, read it myself like a maniac.

The Witches by Roald Dahl, it still is one of my favorite books, even though I've never read the real English version...
