Favourite book when you where a child?

I loved books by,
Roald Dahl: The Twits, The BFG, The Witches, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Sue Townsend: The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾, this book was so funny! I laughed a lot !
I liked fairytales from the brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Andersen. I also loved Russian fairytales like, Prince Ivan, the Firebird, and the Gray Wolf or Baba Jaga. I read a lot of comic books too, The Hulk, Spiderman, Superman, Fantastic Four, Asterix & Obelix, Suske en Wiske, Tintin, Tom Poes and Donald Duck.

Matilda
The Fantastic Mr Fox
The Twits (pretty much any roald dahl)
Mallory Towers
Famous Five
Double Act
The Illustrated Mum
the Babysitters Club!

and when i was a little younger
The Tiger who came to Tea
Mr Men (esp Mr Bump!)
Kitty Books.

alice's adventures in wonderland (even though the pictures freaked me out)

Roald Dahl: The Twits
I concur!

Mr. Men & Little Miss books (Roger Hargreaves)... my grandma knitted a fabulous 'Little Miss Sunshine' sweater for me
The Phantom Tollbooth (Norton Juster)
Wind in the Willows (Kenneth Grahame)
The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Eric Carle)
I remember collecting many Berenstain Bears books (Stan & Jan Berenstain), but I think it was more about the collecting than the literary content

While I did read an awful lot, I may have spent even more time drawing all over books; the blank pages just inside the front and back covers were irresistible....

I loved all the Roald Dahl children's books, and also The Secret Garden by Frances Burnett

Choose Your Own Adventure...I loved those books. I spent hours and hours reading them. Never really bothered reading fairy tales though 'cause I never really believed in them...oh well...there goes my fantasy-filled childhood...

I loved Uncle Fedya, His Dog, and His Cat by Eduard Uspenski.
Such a beautiful book it was!!Wish i had it to read it again.God knows where it is now.

The Giving Tree by Shel Silversteen. Our teacher read it out loud to us in first grade and by the end I was a blubbering mess. It's so sad!!!

Marcelo, Marmelo, Martelo (Ruth Rocha)
O Menino Maluquinho (Ziraldo)
Reinações de Narizinho (Monteiro Lobato)
Tistou les pouces verts (Maurice Druon)
Le Petit Prince (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)
Pollyanna (Eleanor H.Porter)

Anybody read My Naughty Little Sister by Dorothy Edwards? That was my favourite. And Rudyard Kipling.
