^how much does it retail for?

And I agree that the Spys are even more beautiful with a lot of texture.

Does anyone know how much the seersucker denim spy is (the one that Uniq purchased)? I'm hoping its less than the denim squirrels! TIA:flower:

I've been a stalker of this thread for a while now, but never posted. So here is my first post ^_^ I know there has already been heaps of discussion about which colour spy to get... but I am so confused right now! I have a Cognac spy on order, but won't receive it until end of March or in April - and that is just an estimate. Otherwise I may be able to get a Tobacco one by the end of Feb.

What do you recommend? Should I wait for the Cognac or is the Tobacco just as gorgeous? I wanted a colour that will go with almost everything and that will last forever, a classic. So would you wait for the Cognac or go for the Tobacco?

My problem is, I haven't seen a good picture of the Tobacco. I'm waiting to hear back from Fendi in Sydney if they can send me a picture. I'm in Perth, Australia where there are NO Fendi stores
Welcome, I prefer the tobacco over the cognac. It's a rarer color, and I've heard that the cognac leather lot has had more than the usual share of problems with fading/peeling/wear.

Even the SA's in Fendi told me that it will. They said that it's the nature of the cognac leather to do that.

one of the most important things i've learned from this thread is that whenever theres a problem with one of their bags, their SAs always says that..... worldwide..

i'm glad you got the choc brown.. fingers crossed that it stays in good shape^_^

don't know if this will help. but I had a cognac for two days and ended up selling it. It just wasn't right for me - too red or something. Then I got the chocolate, and I adore it. I've had it since August and I still love it, which for fickle me is pretty amazing. It's one bag I can't imagine ever selling, and even if I do, I doubt I'd lose much money!

I've had my bag since Jan. and have pretty much carried it everyday...The bag is sowing signs of wear on the upper edges and on the spy compartment flap:shock: ...I called Fendi:o one of their SAs told me that that is going to happen with every congnac bag no matter how you treat and conditon it...what do you think:shock: ...I love the bag...but I don't know if I want it if it's going to loose more color...not really into that look:cry:

Thanks for your advice ilovepositano and gigi leung! I think I will definitely try for the Tobacco (dark brown). I really appreciate your advice on the textures. I'm going to phone up the store this morning. I can't wait to get my Spy!! :D

Reducto, I totally agree with ilovepositano ^_^

When I was at Fendi to get my choc/dk brown Spy, the first one that the SA showed me was kinda smooth, not much texture at all  When I asked whether they have more in stock, the SA showed me 2 more Spy in the same color! One of them was beautifully textured! Needless to say, I chose that one! With 3 dk brown Spys side by side to compare...I must say the texture really add to the beauty of the bag! If you can, make sure to ask for one that's really textured! :flower:

Hi everyone!! Thanks for your replies! Well, I'm loving the choc brown more and more each passing hour. I got to really look at it in the daylight today and it has gorgeous texture.....I never noticed that with my cognac spy. I think because the cognac is dull and this has some shine to it....it brings out the texture a lot more. I think the choc brown goes with a lot more than the cognac, too. It is a beautiful shade of brown. Thanks again everyone!!

I know what you're going through. I couldn't believe that I spent over $2000 and my bag was losing color. I was fearful of how much worse it was going to get. I loved the color, but I'm learning to let go  ......and  the chocolate brown even more. I used my cognac for 3 days and it got bad. I couldn't imagine what it'd look like in 3 months! Some people like the look of it when it fades, but mine was looking really spotted and blotchy...not very attractive to me.

demarish- gosh, if you really don't like the discolored look, have you ever thought about selling it now while it is still not discolored and getting another color that will not spot as much?? just a thought...i know some people don't mind...

probably not the best idea but.. maybe the spotty leather could be redyed by an expert? um.. or.. shoe polish? ok.. i'm joking on the shoe polish, but it would be a miracle if it were that simple. (anyone care to experiment on theirs?:shifty: )

is your bag past the return date?

Thanks.

 SHOE PLOISH:cry: ...I bought it from NM:D I can still return it:flower: . Thanks Pinky.

So nobody is having this problem then with the tobacco, chocolate, or petrol colors hmmmm? Only cognac?

I'm not having any problems with my honey, and I've been using the crap out of it... but I also conditioned it. That and its a lighter color leather/less noticeable.
My mom's black one, on the other hand... its not so much discolored as it is graying in spots. I liken it to an old man going gray around the temples. Def changes the look of the bag, from something more sophisticated to something more... weathered? i guess.

I did try shoe polish on the bottom. It didn't do a thing.....it wouldn't even soak in. Actually it just made the area shiny......with the cognac being so dull, it then looked worse. I had a good match of shoe polish, too. The leather just wouldn't absorb it.

It's good to hear that your honey is holding up. I don't mind the weathered look, especially in brown leather......BUT I hated the blotchy/spotty look that my cognac spy took on. It looked like a defective bag. I'm going to condition my chocolate and cross my fingers that nothing happens!
