Fendi Spy Bag

i did not receive a card like you scanned with the numbers on it
only 2 yellow cards in yellow envelopes: one saying "tortuga calf" (probably because part of my bag is canvas) and one saying "nappa"

so i think i miss the most important card!
and maybe they put the wrong card in the bag you bought!

and i live in leiden so popping in is a little bit more difficult for me as i also work whole day.....well, i first give them a call!

That's exactly what my mom said: they must have misplaced the cards! As far as I know (and the sa told me this when I boutght it) they had 3 brown/zucca spies (of which you own one) and an all-leather black one (which I bought). So it could have gone wrong with the cards. Some of the numbers on my card do actually match the ones inside (8BR511, RQ1), they are just placed differently. I've compared this to one on ebay (which is authentic!), and that one had the same with the numbers. But I'll be asking Shoebaloo about is soon, and you should defininately too! Go get your cards girl!

Yes giving them a call is probably the best in your case. I will mention your problem with the cards to them next monday, and I will let you know as soon as they've explained!

How wonderful you live in Leiden, I will start an egyptology study there in September!

yes, i will! but: enjoy your bag!!!!! (still staring at it.....the leather is so soft......WOW!)

Thanks gga, that would be great if you could do that!!
Leiden is great,, maybe we can meet in Leiden and talk about our bag addiction!! as this is off-topic i will send you a private message later!

Ok, so I've bought a black fendi spy, at a reputable store (shoebaloo in Amsterdam), for 1400 euros, and I'd like to know if the serial number is right.I can't post any pics since I don't have digital camera. I also know that I shouldn't be questioning authenticity, since this store has many famous clients and I've bought authentic chloé, prada and alexander mcqueen there before. It's just that I am a little worried, especially after I've had to work for 2 months to get this amount of money. I'll be in Itlay in 5 weeks, and planned to buy the bag there, but Fendi in Rome told me the spies have all sold out when I called them. This oppurtunity was just too good to be true, so I bought it in Amsterdam.

I noticed that the number on the card doesn't quite match the one on the leather flap inside the bag. Can anyone please let me know if this is normal?

The card reads: BORSA SPY NAPPA NUVOLATA/NERO/ORO/PALLADIO
The number on the card is 8BR511 00RQ1 F0GK6
And the one inside the bag is 2415-8BR511-RQ1-069
The hologram is marked AF56692

Please help!!!

I'm surprised that they told you the spies are out. I spoke to them on Friday and found out that the grey wisteria spy just came in together with some of the Fall new ones, plus dark brown and some other classic color. It's quite impossible that they're sold out. You could have asked them to hold one for you for a couple of weeks while you make your way there. I always do that. So much better than buying from a retailer and then worrying about authenticity. It costs 1475 euros, minus 12%.

I hope your purchase works out. I know how it feels like. Good luck!

Well, when I phoned Fendi, some woman answered, and she wasn't very pleased. Her English was pretty bad, and I think she hardly understood what I wanted. She said they had sold out of spies, that they would come in later, and that she wouldn't hold one for me since I'd never bought anything there before.

About my spy: I am positively sure (just have to start believing in it) that it is authentic.

I am actually getting to terms with the fact that I own a black one now, I didn't have any large black bags (I used to tote my small black prada flap bag, in which I only kept a wallet, and a plastic bag for all my other stuff). The black looks great with my Versace and Prada winter coats, and it doesn't stain like the other colours (my friends owns a brown one that has lost quite a lot of it's colour, and scratches easily). Also, I already have a chocolate paddy...I just hope I won't regret this when I get to Italy and see the other colours!

About Italy (yes, this is off topic): I've been there only ones, in Rome, and there was a lot of street crime there. Many of my class mates (it was a school trip) got robbed and their bags got stolen. Would it be safe to bring my spy? I'll be staying in Florence, and then take day trips to Milan, Venice and Rome.

GGA - I went to Fendi Rome just a few days ago and they definalty had Spy's sitting on the shelf then.. so I'd go check them out ;) About street crime, I wouldn't worry much.. I brought my Spy to Rome. I saw ladies with designer bags toting them around all the time. I guess like in all cities there are certain areas you should stay out of, but down town, at least in Rome (the other cities i don't know) I've never experienced anything unpleasant, just watch out for pickpockets and don't leave your bag by itself. I'm sure it'llbe fine, I never had to worry about any of that while there. have a lovely and safe trip :flower:

Thankx therese! I'll be taking my baby then, since i'd feel strange without at least one of my designer bags!

About the spies-I'm so broke right now (well, actually I'm not, but I'm saving up for a crocodile Novak), I will be checking out the spies, but won't be buying them! I have to lay low for a while now...since I've spent about 2,500 Euros in the past month or so...

I always go to the store and check it out. EVERY SINGLE TIME........and none of the times I actually bought it..............*cries*

Well, I work quite close to the Shoebaloo store in Amsterdam, where many designer bags are sold, and I check them out every lunch break every day! The sales person must think I'm nuts or something...

My new silver metallic spy just arrived! After a 2 month wait. I love it so much. It is the most beautiful thing. Make me feel all glamourous!!

Is there reallly a sequoined Fendi Spy or is that another infuriating fake? As you might have noticed, particularly if you have seen some of my other posts tonight, I'm more than a bit touchy on the 'fake' problem!

The Fendi sequinned spy does exist and was produced in SS 05. However, ALL of the ones available on ebay, ioffer, online are F-A-K-E. And hideous, obvious fakes (I should know because I own an authentic one). Here's a pic of my personal authentic sequinned spy:

(OT: Is that Louisville as in Louisville, KY? If so, howdy from another 'Viller! :flower:)

Yeah Greendrv your sequined Spy is double-yum. I wish they still allowed people to special order them...

Just a quick question to all you Spy-owners out there. I have a bone coloured Spy from the first batch of bags Fendi made in Spring 05, I have a slight issue with colour transfer on the underside of my bag where it has rubbed against my dark jeans - it's not too horrendous but I'd love to be able to remove it. I have rubbed it gently with a damp sponge and some of the dark colour appeared to come off but not all of it. Has anyone had any success with a cream cleaner on light coloured Spys? It's quite a fragile leather and I wouldn't want to just experiment with any old cleaner. Any help much appreciated?! Thanks !

I'm sorry to hear that, Grill. I never had this prob but I've heard of people using the Magic Eraser for such stains. It's dry so perhaps less damaging?

Totally off-topic, here I am with my new Silver spy out for a wedding dinner on Saturday. With my new MiuMiu dress.
