Ford Supermodel of the World 2005

She's just ok. Ford modelling agency has really lost their edge.

We've got a girl from Brazil aged 14 who has been one of the major new faces of last show season. She got a 400K girl-boy fragrance campaign afterwards; at the shoot she was supposed to kiss the boy. She's never done that before (neither in public nor in private), and ultimately failed. Was eventually substituted by Kim Noorda I guess...... Starting your model career too early is like sailing through Scilla and Chrybdis without any experience

Romanian girls=TNBT. Any agency not already onto it is behind.
The most beautiful girl I knew growing up was Romanian so I might be partial.

I completely agree! I was in Rumania interrailing this summer and they were the most beautiful people I had ever seen -more than even the French and the Russians. I think it is due to the mix of Roman (who were there during the days of Empire hence the country's name), Indian (due to the gypsies who are prevalent there) and Viking (yep they were in the area too). Some girls look Indian, some look Eastern European -there is such a variety and they are so unbelievable

I just wish every agent could read what you just wrote. It's the saddest thing that girls so young are put in these situations. It's not going to make a difference and it's been said a million times, let these kids grow up. I speak from experience and I wish I could take it back. You just get so wrapped up in the glamor and the get rich scheme of thing that it fogs your brain. I can't think of one other industry that can get away with using kids in this way and no one says a word. The girls are so young and the modeling world is so appealing who wouldn't turn it down especially if you come from a situation where you haven't had much. Models used to have real bodies and be so glamorous and sophisticated but thats not the case now. Where will it end and who will ever say enough?

she's only 13, a lot to "develop". Not only is she young, but in her photos she doesn't look that comfortable, yet. Time will tell.

13-year olds should be in school.
i think the brazilian government is pretty strict about things like that.

Do Moldovans count? Because the model Katya Bespyataikh is absolutely gorgeous, she's another new fave of mine.... Are they considered ethnically the same as Romanians???

And I'm ashamed to admit I already had a stereotype in my head that Romanian girls were not so attractive looking. I guess its because a few at my school weren't that pretty but esp. when I was glued to Athens summer olympics, some of this Romanian girls looked ugh but I suspect it had to do with them being half-starved. And there's my teacher...whose not the best looking I have to say. but then again i hate her so perhaps i'm biased LOL.

whoops... sorry i just remembered reading a few romanian posters here...sorry if i offended anyone!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with everyone else 13 is too young. I think agencies should wait until girls are 18 before they sign them, 16 at a push. I justthink it is unrealistic for clothes that are designed for women to be shown on little girls.

its one to be around 16, 17 etc.. but 13 I think is way too young...then most of them don't model for more than 5 years....

I very much agree with your statement......sometimes it seems things have changed for the worse.

let the girl be 13!!!! since she is 13 she probably would want to be a model until she is like in her late 20's or something. naomi was 15 when she started ,gisele was a teen when she started ,adriana was 13 when she started, fernanda tavares was 13 when she started , gerren started at 13, isabella fontana was 13 when she started also maria carla was 16 when she started doing alberta ferreti shows give the girl a break already just accept that the girl is 13

Yes, let's just accept that these girls are maturing earlier then they should; let's just accept that in this industry a 20 year old girl is already too old for the business; and let's just accept the fact that normal women feel humiliated by this cruel standard of extreme youth-extreme thinness. Kudos to the fashion world!
