Not every one at these events is a socialite. I like Genevieve but she doesn't have the pedigree of a TRUE socialite. Think about it: do we have pics of her at major social events like the black and white ball or the frick or the MOMA costume ball? I haven't seen any. That's why I call her a party girl. She's not a Hearst or Vanderbilt or one of those girls with family money.

I have been DYING to know who this girl is since I kept seeing picture after picture of her in mags and forums. Apparently, noone knows that much about her, but from what I gather from this thread, she seems like a very sweet and relatable girl. She definitely gets bonus points from me for having been raised in Baton Rouge, as I am a southern girl myself. I love her style, and she seems to have designed her own life/destiny, which is a quality I really admire. BTW, does anyone know the address of her myspace page?

I absolutely ADORE her style. She always looks adorable and very soignee.

I love her. She's my favorite on the social set. I don't care where she's from, she's is here now and she's fabulous. I don't see why being born into some special circle is so important, the society set should be more inclusive. I love Genevieve's clothes and her attitude. She's much more interesting than most of the other girls in that group.

I agree. And let's not forget, many of the society set dress boringly and uncreatively. How many of us here would be ogling their outfits?


No offense, but I am amazed, who really gives a hoot how she gets her clothes, if she has a "financial backer", where she is from, or whatever? All of a sudden, for whatever weird reason, some folks get a Columbo-esque attitude when they look at her.

I saw her yesterday outside Sant Ambroeus. I chatted with her for a moment about her pug Dottie who was with her and cute as a button. She was extremely sweet.
