Jacquelyn is the most beautiful red-lipped, panda-eyed zombie I've ever seen.

Well I'm sure there's an audience out there who wouldn't take the ad too literally. It's not telling you to look like that, it's probably just saying "Givenchy makeup will make you look unique".

^I agree. Plus, no one's going to be crazy enough to wear both the dark lip stick and the dark eye shadow all at once, even if it totally works for this ed. But I can totally imagine using these colors in a toned down way separately for an everyday look. And that picture is way more appealing than any overly photoshopped Maybelline or Dior cosmetics ad.

Jacquelyn looks wonderful and I love the mood of the ad. I love it.

Ugh, tell me about it. I mean I understand that Maybelline is aimed at a younger generation which is why their ads are always fun and sparkly, but it's great to have something dark and serious like this.

^Yes, and all those plastic creatures in most cosmetics ads are so off-putting rather than inspiring.

Also, I just noticed the name of that Givenchy palette is "Les Ombres de Lune" which makes me love that ad even more because I love the idea of Jacquelyn being the moon and the make up being the shadows No seriously, that's beautiful.

^ It is beautiful. The moon has always been mythically/anatomically connected to female sexuality, in a hormonal/menstruation/werewolf/gothic kinda way (which I find very sexy to be honest). I think it's where they got Sailor Moon from

I actually really like this ad, and being different from other beauty campaigns is a huge plus. Btw I'm getting a goth geisha vibe.

^I agree. I love the red sleeve thing and the make up is nice but Liv looks flat and boring. And the hair covering one half of the face and your hand covering the other one may not be the best way to advertise a make up collection.

JJ's ad is brilliant- Liv's looks awful. It looks like her hand is going to swallow her face

Liv's shot isn't half as stunning as Jacq's one. I don't like the wavy-ish hair on her face.
